Clearing The Air With Soccer Fans

It isn't at all weird to me to hate it. I started hating it in the 5th grade when they gave me an award as an all star goalie. My sense of gall meter went off and I have never liked it. Then over the years people who do like it try and cram it down my throat and it has taken me from don't like it to hate it. The flopping and racism by some fans in Europe just are icing on the cake. Nothing about the sport is appealing to me on any level.

And your hatred intensified when the first event in the new Cowboys stadium was........................................a soccer game.

I really don't get what it is about soccer that bring about these debates. If i say i like MMA for example and someone else says they don't it ends there, but with Soccer for some reason that's only the beginning. No other sports is like that where people either feel the need to try to convince everyone else about how great it is or justify their hate.

Reading the back and forth about soccer this offseason has been really funny though

I was given an award as the all star goalie because no team scored on us all season long. That had nothing to do with me. I could have slept in goal and we would have won. Other kids actually deserved the award. I didn't.

I took the trophy home and I threw it in the trash. It never sat on a shelf or dresser in my house.

It galls me to this day that those who awarded me that trophy did not even realize how they insulted their own sport to give me that trophy.

For the most part........ Guys like Plies and Soulja Boy dont know how to make a song actually sound good


But the better ones know how to make it sound great and also have interesting lyrics.

Truthfully though, it does sound better. B/C it just uses the technology available. Country has the same sound every song. Rap uses acoustic guitar, electric guitar, drums, bass, etc.

The first event was a George Strait concert, not soccer. The first sports event was soccer.

Country used to be good. It is crap now and has been for a couple of decades.

I do not hold it against anyone who does like soccer. I don't care enough to let it bother me. I like NASCAR, golf and baseball. Three sports often brought up when someone doesn't like soccer. I do not care if you don't like them or how they compare to soccer. Hate them all you want. It's your right. Just as it is my right to hate soccer. I am exercising my rights to hate it.

I can't stand Soccer either. I've tried to watch it, but I can't stay awake.

I would still watch Soccer before I would watch golf. Watching Golf on TV is about as exciting as watching a sod farm in action.

Both types of music are horrible. Both country music and rap no longer have any originality. I hear that both are very effective torture techiniques for terrorists.

you are probably the only 10 year old on the planet who would be upset for getting a trophy, deserved or undeserved

For me, every trophy I ever received was deserved even if it weren't.
