They're not that dumb.

Yeah I was joking, but in early November he was expected to be a first round pick and even some had him going #1 overall but his play this season has knocked him out of the first round mocks. Probably a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

I'd draft Patrick Mahomes from Texas Tech over Watson, I may be a bit biased because it's my school but he threw for 5,000 yards and missed games with an injury and he sort of reminds me of Dak.

Not a fan of Mahomes, but he is a passer. He can throw the ball.

I am not sure Watson is not just a shined up version of Tajh Boyd.

May I ask what you don't like about him? I'm not saying he's a first round pick but if I were a team like the Texans I'd consider drafting him as a second rounder and develop him behind Tom Savage. If you can pass that's the #1 good trait you can have as a QB, although I know that's not the entire picture.

If they go Garrett with the first pick, mahomes may be an option in the second for them.

Going to give Saban full credit he is a genius one of the best college football coaches ever, but he's ruined college football for me.

He has a freshman QB too he might win the next two years.

Mahomes? I don't think he is just awful, I just have doubts about his mental acuity. Part of that is not his fault playing in the Air Raid.

the same for me,Alabama has so much talent that its not made for good Tv. I havent watched many games this year and haven't enjoyed a single won apart from the Rose Bowl.

It's almost as if they play at a different speed and skill.

Crazy how good they are.

Most of Watsons knocks are fixable.

Thin frame? Can add weight
Pre determined throws? Needs to learn to read defenses more
Accuracy is probably his biggest knock

You throw him in Cleveland he's a flop. Put him behind Drew Brees, Philip Rivers .. somewhere to learn he will be damn good player. Him falling from the top 10 is a blessing in disguise

Watson's saving grace is his leadership ability.

That is there. But then again, it was there for E.J. Manuel as well.

It still amazes me that EJ Manuel and Christian ponder were first round picks

I went there too and love the kid but playing for Tech seems like HORRIBLE preparation to play QB in the NFL

Yeah I understand that, but even though I could be wrong I think he could be a quality starter if not a good backup. It's like Baker Mayfield played for Tech then went to Oklahoma and now is considered one of the best college QBs, if he stayed at Tech would that have meant he would have sucked in the NFL yet he'll be great suddenly because he went to Oklahoma? Maybe, maybe not. But there hasn't been much NFL success with Tech despite the whole Mike Leech era of good college QBs.

anyway /offtopic rant

This game is 14-7, college football is not dead yet.
