First and foremost who is this guy? I didn't put much stock into him coming into training camp. Even after the first week of camp I didn't think too much of him. But jeez, all this kid does is make plays. This kid has 2 INTs today, my guess is that he leads the team in INTs during camp so far and it probably is not even close.

I know that this 4th cornerback battle wont be fully settled until these guys start playing in some real action, but as of right now, it is looking pretty evident that this guy is going to run away with that job. I absolutely love his ball skills. I am not watching these practices, so I can't tell if he is getting burned left and right when he is not making INTs but I don't recall too many times in which his name has come up by getting beat on a play.

Does anybody know much about this guy? Does anyone who has attended camp have any input on him? We might have a player in this kid..

I believe he was with the Chargers when Wadw was there. They brought him in last year and was placed on the practice squad, I think.

Gordon with another INT..3rd of the day..BALLER

Hmmm might have to keep an extra eye out for this guy Sunday :)

yea he had some picks this morning and he just looked smooth when he picked em off.....watch out!

Don't know much about the guy but he is playing aggressive balling like he has nothing to loose. Found this old video of him working out, he seems to have good ball skills... snatches the ball like a WR and has good footwork.

Didn't seem very fast but I don't think he was trying to show speed so hard to tell but with the nick name Flash he better have speed.

Yeah, he's a Wade guy. I also think they like having a big corner. All the others hover around 5-10.

He's the solid number 4 right now. He'll see some action there with special packages. Unless they put Hamlin in and let Ball move to the 4th CB role.

I was watching a playoff game from when we was still a Charger and Jammer went down and he played pretty solid opposite of Cromartie. Granted you could tell he wasn't ready to play in that big of a game, but he held his own.

Gordon is having a big day today for sure. Before the day started i heard he was in the lead for the job based on expeirience mainly.

They also said Wall had been the biggest playmaker so far, as he has the most INT's and batted balls so far, and that McCann had been the smoothest in coverage, or "the natural" if you will. ha.

Anyway take that all for what its worth, im sure they're not letting on everything they are thinking about the group.

Anyone else actually watch this entire video and think to themselves, "Um.. 'the flash' looks kinda slow." lol Honestly though he doesn't seem like he's very quick changing direction. Straight speed looks ok. Maybe its just me?

I think Wade trust this guy's ability more than any other CB fighting for the position. Everything I've read said he's made plays throughout camp.

SAN ANTONIO - Cletis Gordon is a ball hawk.

Most fans may not have seen it yet, but those who have been in attendance at training camp certainly have, as have the Cowboys' coaches. Eleven days into camp, he appears to be the top candidate for the fourth cornerback spot behind Terence Newman, Mike Jenkins and Orlando Scandrick.

"When he came into San Diego as a rookie (in 2006), Wade (Phillips) was there," said secondary coach Dave Campo. "Wade said when he first got there he basically intercepted every other pass. He's kind of a natural playmaker."

He needs it to translate in real games. 0 interceptions in three years with the Chargers.

Why did the Chargers get rid of him?

It seems odd when you need so many corners in this league.

Yea the more I look at the video the more I get the feeling he was not trying to show his speed. Looks like it was more about footwork and ball skills. If you watch the Cowboys training camp videos out there now you don't see players going full throttle doing what Gordon was doing either.

I think he was injured more then he was healthy while in San Diego.

You have to play to make plays.Gordon is a player.I watched him in college(Jackson State) same school as Walter Payton
and thought he was a real talent.Maybe now is his time.

6-1, 212.

It looks like he has corner ability, but with his size and ball skills, he seems like a prototypical FS to me.
