Cleveland Browns

I wonder how Kirk is looking at the Browns now with Landy and Gordon and potentially Barkley.

No way Barkley is worth the #1 overall pick.

Barkley is one of those players who is talented enough to walk onto a football team and instantly make them 3 games better.

I don’t see how anyone else in this draft is more deserving of a #1 pick than Barkley.

Now that they have Tyrod Taylor (who everyone knows sucks BUT the Browns), I can easily see them taking Barkley.

This is a smart move by the Browns if their intent is taking a QB with one of their 1st round picks (1st and 4th overall). Taylor only has one year left on his contract so he will be playing for 2019 (in hopes of getting a deal with another team) while at the same time mentoring the QB the Browns choose, and if he sputters then that QB gets to take over midway thru the season. The Browns have the cap space, Taylor gets paid one more season and the Browns draft their QB of the future, the only way to mess this up is by not taking one of the top QB's with either of their #1 picka, now it is the Browns so anything is possible, but right now this is a very smart move by them. Taylor is a decent enough QB to get them some wins this seasons while they mentor their future QB

Just did a first-pick mock for cleveland

5 of my first 6 picks were offense

RB barkley
OG nelson
OT mcglinchey
TE hurst
C/G ragnow

If I am Cleveland, I take Barkley at 1. I take Quenton Nelson at 4. Then, in the 2nd, I take Tyrell Crosby, Frank Ragnow, and the best TE. Then, go defense the rest of the draft, except for maybe 1 WR and QB Kyle Lauletta for depth. Oh, and if he is still available in the 5th, I take P Michael Dickson. He is a huge defensive weapon.

If the Browns don't take Barkley.....well they're the Browns,so kinda ruins that post.

Say Cleveland does trade out of #1 to say the Jets.
They get the Jets #1 this year and next year plus the Jets #2 this year.

Stay with me on this one.

Then Trade back to number 3 with the Colts for number 3 this year.

Giving up the Jet picks.

So the Browns are in a power position with the number 3 pick and number 4 pick.

They should just stick with Tyrod Taylor.

Cousins isn't that much better then Tyrod Taylor and with Cousins you get the stupid contract.

I'd rather build a great team then spend it all on a mediocre QB.

That type of money is for the true difference makers like Rodgers, Brady, Breese, Cam and guys like that.

Cousins is a little better than Jag and IMO is a bit of a system QB.

May as well take Barkley at #1 and best defensive player available at #4. Any QB they pick is destined for failure anyway.

QBs with the most wins in Cleveland since the Browns re-entered the league in 1999:
1) Ben Roethlisberger - 11
2) Derek Anderson - 10
3) Tim Couch - 9

... and in the 13 games that Ben played in Cleveland since 2004, he played opposite 12 different Browns QBs.
