Cleveland vs 49ers

Here's an interesting question. Do you root for or against the Browns in the playoffs?

If they are playing the Patriots no question I will be pulling for the Browns. May even buy some doggie treats!

strangely enough I will root for them.

I like the city of cleveland, very blue collar underdog town. My kind of place.

I am hoping they win the division but at the same time I dont want them to beat buffalo this week, I would love buffalo to get that last wild card spot.

I think it would be something if cleveland won the division and then won a game in the playoffs.

We have two first round picks in 2008 and I'm happy with that. Sure, if Browns' pick was in in top-15, it would even be even better, but again, I'm happy with two first round picks.

I am taking a new approach this week

I am pulling for the 49ers to win the game !

I would also be praying that they win the game. They are so bad that I went to the game last week and over half the stadium left at halftime. They had two first downs in the first half. I don't think they will win another game this year. If they do, people here in the Bay area would think that they won the Super Bowl. That is how down people are about this team.

This game was supposed to be for the #1 pick in the draft...not playoff implications for the Brownies

Great post and excellent points. I totally agree.

Like many have said this week, hos, theo, cl, we can use these 3 picks in the top 55-60 players this year to make sure this team is competitive for years.

We dont have to reach at any position, we are not relying on the draft for any one position like years past.

I firmly believe wherever the two picks end up we should just stay put and take the best available players, regardless of position. Even quarterback.

This team has a "star" in Romo. Keep a somewhat competitive team around him and Dallas is always going to have a puncher's chance. Three picks in the top 60 with very little cap implications for those three picks is the way to go.

With the exception of the Rams team that had top picks in Pace, Carter and Holt (and an UDFA QB), teams just don't win with picks in the upper reaches of the draft. Some of that may be on how poorly run some franchises that are consistently drafting up there like the Cardinals, Bengals...are but overall, I wouldn't want the cap hit.

While I understand it's great to have three picks in the top 60 and don't understand how anyone could think we're better off with two late first rounders instead of a top five pick and our number one.

I thought Cleveland would at least give us a top 15 pick and a bluechip prospect. A top 15 pick doesn't guarantee success nor does it mean the top 15 pick will do better than a late first round pick. But a top 15 pick is money in the bank. You can do a lot more with it than a pick in the 20s. And a top five pick is not golden. It's platinum.

BTW I'm happy with three picks in the top 60 with two in the top 31. I'd be happier with a top five pick and a number 32 (31 this year).

Hey, in Madden I manage to end up with two first round picks every year. How hard could it be.
