Clock will continue running after first downs in 2023, NCAA says

What problem are they trying to fix? Do fans complain about the length of football games?

I do think older alumni who attend games in person complain about the length of the games. Makes for a long day. Probably mostly the broadcast partners asking for this change. It might minimize how many early games run over into later game TV slots.

Good. College games are lasting way too long and have for past decade. Games start at 12 and ends near 4. Especially in the big 12. Need to get rid of the “previous play is under further review” rule. That’s unnecessary every time something close happens as well.
