I think they lost a round worth of value. I consider Clowney worth a 2nd round pick

Surprised the CBA didn't get fixed to address the issue with edge rushers in the 3-4 vs. 4-3 olbs.

That issue has come up a few times over the years. I can see why the owners might fight it though.

We seem overburdened and stagnated by the signings that we're trying to keep up with lately. Our FO appears pretty torn between pleasing everyone with contractual issues. Evidently, we're not the only one having those difficulties. The Texans and several other teams are evidently in the same boat.

Houston (the one team that knows him best) could have had him for no compensation... yet they chose to not sign him.

It isn’t a matter of cheap compensation, it is a matter of his contract. He wants way too much.

The Texans took Mario Williams 1st overall in 2006 and Clowney 1st overall in 2014. Didn't get their return on investment in either player.

According to others in this thread he can’t even sign a new deal so basically Seattle stole him.
