If you're a professional wrestling fan, guru, or critic, you'd be silly to make that comment.

Don't think for a second that Vince McMahon is not thankful the Rock fell into his lap (seeing as Rocky Johnson was part of the roster and Dwayne hung out with his dad throughout the years).

I guarantee if you ask everyone in the locker room that they will say The Rock is one of the best things to ever happen to the WWE and wrestling in general.

I'm curious as to what you mean by him being overrated. As a in-ring performer? No, he's not Kurt Angle or Dean Malenko as far as being the most technical wrestler, but you are mistaken if you think that makes a superstar in professional wrestling.

It's about entertainment and there is/was nobody better at it than the Rock.

Judging by your posts (about guys that will never be any higher than mid-card status), you would be better suited to watch the real stuff.

Wasting your breath. Some kids on a wrestling forum (Who are apparently the pulse and voice and reason of all wrestling fans cause they're from that particular set of forums) told him that's the way it is.

No way I'm denying his impact and importance but I always like Stone cold 5000000x more than Rock, I always found rock stale with catch phrases that were corny.

Seems that the fans that drop hard-earned cash and keep the WWE afloat are fond of those corny phrases since they "sing-a-long" to all of them.

I respect your opinion about not liking the Rock. There's many out there that feel the same way, but to say that is the popular opinion is just not true.

To put it into perspective, when both Stone Cold and The Rock left the WWE, I left as well. Take a poll...you'll see I wasn't the only one. In fact, check the TV ratings for the last decade or so.

He shouldnt do wrestling... Bad decision makes 6$m a movie+, wouldnt make that in a year of WWE.

Plus he's the most overrated performer of all time, I miss the hurricane more than the rock.
One day later, none of this makes a lick of sense to me.

I'm not saying its the popular opinion, if I did it was a mistake as I was on my phone. Hell it is probably the most unpopular opinion you can have about wrestling, not liking The Rock, but I find him cornier than John Cena, and personally I find Cena more entertaining. Rock did the same shtick for what, 5 years? then he left, if he had stayed I would bet by 04, 05 the crowd would have turned on him has they have on Cena.

WHile Cena is popular he's nowhere near as popular as Rock or Austin were....they are both bigger than he will ever be.

Simple circumstance, they were the top dogs in WWF during the highest point in the industrys history, Cena is the top dog in the lowest point in the industrys history in decades, only exceptions may be 94-95, and it has risen up in 2010, 2011, was lower in 08,09

Whatever "circumstance" you throw out there either one of them is a bigger name..more popular.

There's a reason they were the top dogs at the highpoint and he's the top dog at the lowpoint.. think about it.

Without a doubt. Its not even close.

Exactly.

Nothing against Cena, the dude works his butt off for the fans and the company and I respect the hell out of him for that, but Austin and The Rock are two of the absolute biggest reasons that the hightpoint was the highpoint.

You take them out and that highpoint in popularity for wrestling never happens.

I dunno, angles like this one... Well it's tiring.

Bring back the old days when a guy who was leaving a territory would spend several matches putting other guys over and then quietly leave in the night... Soon to show up somewhere else as the next great threat to that area's champion.

Except that you don't have enough places out there for that type of thing to work anymore. I wish there were, that would be great, but there just isn't. They should still put people over on their way out...except in this case I don't think Punk is going out for a really long time. Probably taking time off while they work on a new deal, at least that's what I think. I could be wrong, obviously.

You're right. There isn't.

Someone ruined that process.

WWE STARS ROBBED ON THEIR WAY TO SOUTH AFRICA
by Steven Fernandes @ 8:25 PM on 7/5/2011

Randy Orton noted on his twitter account that over half of the roster had items stolen from their checked luggage when they reached South Africa. His luggage was untouched. There were locks on the bags that were stolen from, but they were cut off.

Vince should have borrowed Jerry's plane.
