We should have taken Merriman.

How about the Cowboys having the draft that is largely responsible for the success of their team in a year when everyone else was sucking it up? We made out like bandits that year. Just a masterful job by our front office.

I think Alex Smith will have a better season this go around because they have a real offensive coordinator in Martz. Granted, the guy is missing a few fries from his Happy Meal, but he has a great offensive mind. Look at how Smith played when Norv Turner was running the offense. In 2006, he had about 2,900 yds and 16 TDs. Not incredible numbers, but he was able to produce under Turner compared to his other two years in the league. Was he worth the No. 1 pick? Absolutely not. But, I think he can turn it around ... in his last chance to hold down the starter position.

Parcells would have added to the misery of the early 1st rd by selecting Spears. Thank you Mr. Jones.

The 05 draft for Dallas may end up the best since there were 12 rounds for Dallas.
