07:28 AM ET 02.20 | The New York Giants are considered a possible destination for linebacker Karlos Dansby, as reports have surfaced that the Arizona Cardinals will not put the franchise tag on him for the third straight year. If the reports are true, Dansby will become a free agent on March 5th and will be on the Giants' radar. We can feel good about them giving Courtney Brown a roster spot. If they think he's worth a look see then they are pretty desperate for secondary help.

He's got plenty of size and speed to play MLB in that defense.

So does D Ware, but he's better playing on the edge. Dansby is such an athlete that he could play any position, in most any scheme, but he is a pro bowl caliber player as a coverage LB (OLB in 4-3 and weakside ILB in a 3-4).

Even if Dansby ends up in NY, I doubt he plays MIKE.

You bring up a good point, we could not beat them in their current configuration add some better ingredients to the recipe and a possible new scheme on defense with a new coach or two. Their receivers are not to be scoffed, Hakem Nicks looks like a better player than Jackson was for the Eagles during his rookie season, in my eyes he is more consistent. We can be sure they will have a huge chip on their shoulders knowing they beat us twice during the regular season and losing to inferior competition cost them the division championship. No reason to believe they have been sleeping and dreaming if we only played better, they will be gearing up for war this fall, we best do the same with the same intensity and vigor. We must have last years draft start to contribute in a significant way to stay afloat the top of the division, holding my breath on the Williams Brothers, along with Mr Brewster. We sure do not want to be one and done. Go Cowboys

Given that Dansby is one of the few (very) high quality unrestricted FAs available this year (assuming no franchise tag), he's going to cost a bundle - and then some. Especially in a year with no cap.

I think that there were also rumors that the Pats could have interest in him as well.

In any case, he's going to be a very hot commodity.

I'd definitely prefer he's out of the NFC.
