Spears is Marcellus Wiley.

Damn!!! That's cold. He's not that bad. Wiley was a straight up BUM...

Parcells' Ego forced him into a position where not only was he not ready his rookie season but he was also unsuited. IMHO, Spears has always had body and feet of an NFL DT who played DE in college!

I think Spears could be the DT of the future...

I stop reading when he said Vince Young will be a bust, if you don't know that V.Young is the real deal you will never know.

Actually, Spears coming into camp out of shape and getting hurt in TC then missing a good bit of time made it so he wasn't ready. Hell, his college coach (Nick Saban) was on him about getting in better shape before the draft.

But hey, don't let the facts get in the way of your BP hate.

and these predictions ar based on what?!?! The only justification he provided for his position is that he complained about BP's scheme. If you are gonna make a prediction, it would help if you gave some reason why you picked your position.

Agreed! Let's wait and see. Spears can at least be better than solid or good. Bust is a strong word. Russell Maryland was the first pick, and he rotated on the d-line for Super Bowl championship teams. Maryland wasn't a super-star, but he was a good player on the d-line. We missed him when he left. He was an unheralded guy that many people forget was the #1 pick of the draft. Spears was #20. Give the guy a chance to show you what he can do in an updated scheme.

He came into the rookie minicamp overweight... But he met BP's prescribed weight for training camp.

I would say injuries in the first two camps have hindered his progress. Hopefully, being healthy and at the weight BP originally demanded of him will help him.

Well he is showing up pretty well here lately in camp and this is the first year he hasnt been injured in the first week. He may be a bust but at lest this time there are no excuses thus giving him his best shot.

Because of his track record, I won't defend Spears. Unquestionably he didn't see eye to eye with BP and his defsive scheme.

With a new HC and DC (in Wade of course) and new defensive system in place, a motivated Spears has lost weight and is ready to prove himself.

It's hard for me to add all that up and come up with him being the biggest defensive bust of the season.

Spears will be better this year, but I don't think he will ever be dominant. Nothing I've seen so far from him would indicate he's that good. He can blame it on Parcells' scheme all he wants, but Spears was invisible last year.

I do think he can be pretty good, but I honestly don't think he will ever live up to his first round billing.

His Breakouts list is pretty Solid.

D'brickshaw ferguson played really well last season. He is going to be a face in this league and the player most teams will be looking for in the draft exclusively for the LT position in the next three years. He is a frekin beast.

I don't care what people or Perloff says, Cedric Benson is good. He is going to have 1200 yards and 10 tds next year, and he is going to kill whoever tries to run over him. Perloff is so wrong here.

Santonio Holmes is overrated. OVERRATED!!!

Marcus Spears can go either way. He is the only person on this list I honestly don't know where he should be. If he cant play in this defense he is a bust. If he can't get to the qb even though he has little to no run obilgation in this defense then he is a major bust IMO. But then again he could have a season like Castillo or even Olshansky and that would be good enough.
