I see a lot here how Mike gets attacked for things like clock management and others. Well, Sean McVay just made a worse blunder than what Mike's done when it comes to clock management. In case you didn't see the Packers Rams game, the Rams had the ball late with about 40 seconds remaining. It was I think 2nd or 3rd down, and LA had no timeouts remaining. Does Sean A. call a shot to the end zone? B. Try a pass to the outside and try to get yards and get out quickly. C. kick a field goal? or D, and stupidest idea, run the ball? He chose option....D? Yeah, he chose option D and they ended up trying a successful kick with 18 seconds remaining. That was completely stupid imo. You either take a shot at the end zone there or you take the kick right there. Running it there did no good there and the back was not going to score. I don't know if the Rams win either way, but at least try to get the TD or kick it with 40 ticks remaining. Assuming he did get the ball back, he's got 18 seconds and no time. 40 seconds to try to get a TD is more time to do something with the ball than 18. And I see this with other coaches where they struggle with clock management. I wonder. Why is it that so many coaches, including ones like Sean who are considered "brilliant" can't grasp simple clock management?

Point still remains. Many coaches struggle with clock management, and today's was another example.
If you are a brilliant play caller and offensive mind like McVay and Shanahan, bad clock management is tolerable. McCarthy literally has one job on the sidelines

That game was over anyway! Corky get paid to do ONE thing on gameday, and he does a terrible job of it.

Neither is a "brilliant" play caller, they're good if they have the players .

Sean McVay calls the plays for the Rams. Mike McCarthy literally does nothing except manage the clock and stroke egos
Do you know about the game plans or any of that mess? Do you know if Moore is calling everything because MM has an offensive play sheet in front of him? Are you on the intercom's or in the player meetings? You must be related to one of the coaches on the team to know so much.

FYI, Rams fans are calling McVay the dumbest coach in the league. Go check their forum. Sound familiar?

Not sure, but this and craptastic 4th down calls are my biggest issues with coach mac
