Coach Jason Garrett called training camp an “Outstanding Camp”...

It also seems like they practice hard, and then pull players out quickly if they have nagging muscle problems. Things Parcels would almost certainly be having the guys play through. There's been a conscious effort to establish tempo and expectations with healthy players, and to develop depth when players get knicked.

There's a tradeoff, then, when starters miss out on reps, but overall, the players who've been sitting can afford the time off, and the players getting reps need the time to develop. It'll be interesting to see if it pays off with a team that's in desperate need of depth beyond the starting 22.

Nice riff on that idea. I had been wondering if they were being real cautious about injury/strains. Certainly the tempo in camp seems to have gone way up.

And it does give the depth players a lot of chances to get reps. The starting WRs for the 3rd preseason game will be Ogletree and Harris, with Beasley as the 3rd. And that's with no Witten at TE.

You gotta love how past season's have affected fans so much that every positive thing said may be a lie.

Isn't this the truth. It's hard to get excited because of the letdowns the last 15 years. I really was excited last year thinking the team was ready, and with Romo hurt and still playing, it was a pretty good September, October, and even November, but December was such a big letdown that I'm really taking a wait and see attitude this year. What hurts me the most is the Eagles beating the Cowboys. That in a nutshell is my whole season.

Simply put, show me wins.

All the talk is just that.

Win and this is taken care of.

Sometimes, TwoDeep, I think that you would 'Boo' a nun....:)

Twodeep does not even know why Nuns travel in pairs.

Well, it's because one Nun wants to make sure the other Nun don't get none.

But, then again...

I've noticed that the injuries have occured in practices rather than in games. To me that seems to be a good indicator that the practices are intense enough that players are getting hurt but they are holding up in games. It sounds weird and maybe I'm not saying it right but this isn't your Wade Phillips practices anymore.

All of the star players over the age of 25 but Romo have been on the shelf from one degree to another. I do not see that as coincidence.

Me either, Fuzzyface...

I see it as preparation. I thought the same thing about letting even the eventual starters take it easy in training camp. No need to get the hell beat out of you before you play a real game.

;)

Let me guess, we had an outstanding camp, in all three phases of the game.

Zthe boys had a a physical camp and got allot accomplished in Garretts first full training camp. We got lucky that we only lost nagy for the year. the defense got allot done in year two and has been pretty tough so far. Players are coming back from nagging injuries and hopefully that will translate to wins especially late in the season. yes it was a good camp
