Hmm, I seem to remember some Commanders fans (and even some Cowboys fans) saying it was terrible how Parcells let Owens slide on attending the "voluntary" workouts.

As much as Gibbs prefers full participation at offseason workouts, he said he had made an arrangement with safety Adam Archuleta, who has his own conditioning program but has agreed to alternate between Washington and his personal workout routine on the West Coast.

I bet this doesn't make headlines at ESPN.

Who the heck even wants to hear about Archuleta?

I think Adam's point was missed by some. ESPN made a big deal about Parcells allowing TO to do some of his conditioning with his own regimen but nothing is said by ESPN when Gibbs does the same thing with Archuleta.

There is definitely media bias in favor of Gibbs.

You are correct. I pointed out to someone on this MB one time that it was TO and that is why its getting the coverage. They reminded me about KJ and LA but they didnt get the national exposure that TO will get.

I don't think the lack of reporting about Archuleta has anything to do with a media bias towards Gibbs. This is done by tons of coaches with tons of players. It only made headlines because it was TO.

My post had nothing to do with the media. It was about the fans' reactions to Owens not being at all of the voluntary workouts, instead coming to some sort of agreement with Parcells. Commanders fans (and some Cowboys fans) insisted that Parcells would lose respect and/or control of the team for making an exception for Owens. Then Gibbs goes and does the exact same thing.

Without even looking, I bet this isn't even raising a ruckus on ES. It's understandable, he has his own routine, Gibbs knows he's doing his workouts, etc.

A bunch of the lesser Skinsfans came here to tell "it was starting already" and "TO is a great teammate."

I wonder if talking out of both sides of the mouth hurts?

Adam Archuleta has never been known as a troublemaker. He has been known as a guy who does a plyometrics based workout. Totally different situation from TO.

I agree.

Not that I don't agree with Adam's point that the Skins fans a wee bit hypocritical, but it's apples and oranges. It's the same thing when you commit a felony. The first-time offenders get it lighter than the repeat offenders.

You would hope a player who just got finished telling us in his press conference how he had changed and wouldn't make the same mistakes, wouldn't start his offseason missing one of Parcells' biggest requirements of his players.

It could all be blown out of proportion but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that TO missing the 'voluntary' workouts has me a bit worried.

I don't agree.

There is media bias where they feel they can make a story.

Archuleta? No one outside of true football fans have heard of him.

Owens? Everyone knows him.

Parcells/Owens is a much better story.
