When Witten retires, Jerry needs to hire him as an assistant coach and groom him to be the Cowboys head coach one day. I can't think of any former or current player that I would rather have. Anybody have any other suggestions?

The hours are too long and the money too little for most athletes who have banked a lot of money in their careers. I doubt he or Tony would be interested, but it's fun to think about.

I think Romo and Witten are both headed to broadcasting but it's pretty competitive. Darren Woodson is one of the best in the business but he's buried on ESPN's depth chart.

Witten is a face guy that will follow the likes of Aikman to the booth.

Sean Lee
Jason Witten
Tony Romo
Darren Woodson
Travis Frederick

All above would make great coaches for us..

Sean Lee would be a great LBer coach groomed to be Defesive Coordinator coach when hes too injured to play or retires if he can stay healthy. Romo would be a good QB coach groomed to be O coordinator and he could be available after the next hit he takes.

Witten on TV and Romo a coach somewhere until he is 50 and then the Senior PGA tour if his back is ok.

Romo has young kids and plenty of money
Don't see him going into coaching
Booth is where the money is but few option there though qb's tend to find a spot
Most players go into other things in life
Chances are witten and romo won't stay in the game unless it's in the booth
Lee does strike me as a guy who may go into coaching but you never know
It's a lot of competition from guys who have coached thru the ranks

Highly compensated players don't coach.

Why would they want that grind?

Only reason I can see Romo wanting to coach is if he didn't win a ring as a player and wants one as a HC.

He has too much money for him to do it to make a living.
