Mcveigh, Demeco Ryans, Mike Vrabel, Mike Mcdonald, and the guy half this board didn't want cause he was too old (Sean Payton). What do they have in common. Most of these guys were sought after when they became available. They know how to coach.

Now do the Cowboys. Campo, Parcells, Phillips, 10 years of garret, Mccarthy, and now Schotty. How many of those coaches at the time were really sought after? Maybe parcells, maybe Mccarthy? The only one who wasn't a puppet was parcells.

Year after year, coach after coach. We hire and or stick with guys who don't give us the best chance to win. We waste an entire season with a d coordinator (eberflus) because the owner liked him. We wasted so much talent, two franchise quarterbacks (Romo and now Dak), we have been lapped twice by the giants and eagles, and soon maybe the commanders, and countless other franchises the past 30 years. There is a reason the giants just gave John Harbaugh 20 million dollars per year. In the NFL, more than any other sport coaching matters.

I'm not even saying schotty is a bad coach either. I'm saying we don't pick coaches based on merrit, but on the owners infatuation with "doing it his way". It just disgusts me, because I really feel the past 15-20 years we could have won at least one Super Bowl had we had a quality coach. We haven't even sniffed a title game, and it feels like next year is gonna be more of the same. Nothing will change.

Hopeless, and post season losers.
At least we are the most valuable franchise.

You would think Jerry got the message about “coaching matters” with first hand experience with Jimmy……that and Parcells lifting the team up in the 2000s…..and here we are…..hasn’t figured it out.
 
Part of the reason it annoys me so much. just thought Jerry was obsessed with winning so much, I used to give him the benefit of the doubt. I loved the fact he was a passionate about winning. I told myself I was glad to have an owner that cared about his team.

I thought as he got older he'd want to win one more title before he passed away, maybe give up some control. However he's just doubled down. He legit doesn't care about this fanbase. He's going to go out doing things his way, the same way he's been doing it the past 30 years.

Next year same BS. We'll go 9-8. The giants will pass us, the eagles will pass us. He'll get rid of schotty for some other retred coach he likes. Dak will have one year left on his deal, and we'll have no plan going forward. Rinse and Repeat.
 
You get what you pay for shoddy is getting paid for 5 million a year.

Coach like John harbaugh 20 million a year that's a significant difference. Andy Reid 20 million a year
Mike Vrable Kyle shanahan ,Sean McVay Ben Johnson. Jim harbaugh, Sean Payton . Mike Tomlin
These guys all get paid around 14 or 15 million a year.

An extra 10 million gets you a much better coach

Romo and Dak are not two franchise Qbs, don't put "maybe" besides Parcells name. Agreed on all the other stuff.

Harbaugh only got 20 mil because rhe giants are desperate.

Rich stubborn old man. He will never change or "get the message". The Cowboys is his toy. We can only hope when he passes on his family sells the team or hire a real GM that isn't related to their family. Someone that can be fired if they make bad coaching hires, contract offers and etc. Jerry has no one to answer to but himself. So he doesn't really feel the heat like a real GM would.
 
Cowboys offense ranked 2nd yards per game 7th in points per game and 4th in yards per play . The QB had one of his best years of his career and Pickens collecting dust under Tomlin & Arthur Smith came to Dallas had a break out year. Javonte Williams over 1200 yards punishing tacklers .

Have at it with the “ cultural jokes “ and ping pong tables but from I saw Jerry hired a friendly name to run the defense because his Chicago stay was an abysmal failure but Jerry had to have him
.

The HC / OC ain’t the problem. Get the right DC and dominate the draft picks on D as well as FA let’s see what this looks like a year from now Jan 2027 hopefully playoff success .

Stop Romo and Dak are good enough to at least get to the NFC championship game.

They are better than both Bo Nix, Sam Darnold (who is on his 4th team in 4 years).
Coaching, discipline and defense matters. When you defense can make plays (get turnovers, big time sacks and fumbles). It matters. But we will never be a will coached discipline physical team with the circus Jerry created. A sought after coach will probably never come to the Cowboys under Jerry Jones thumb. We get puppets and the players know it. I wonder how often the head coach gets bypass and players go to Jerry's office.
 
Over the course of watching these successful playoff teams I see Milton Willams DL Elliss at LB and Derek Barnett DL making plays disrupting things all former Eagles .

Hopefully Jerry smart enough to see what 34 yr old Christian Parker the Eagles DB coach has to say about fixing this mess in a second interview , let’s talk to people from successful organizations not guys because you know him
