Just curious.

I want to know the consensus about this peculiar move by Wade.

Fourth quarter, maybe 9 minutes left. Cowboys with fourth down at the 5-yard line. Two TDS behind.
Wade goes for a measley 3-pount field goal.

I thought he should have gone for the TD. Worse case scenario, the Cowboys turn it over on the 5 and the Pats are backed up. Giving the defense a chance to make something happen.
Best case scenario: The Cowboys make the TD and don't have such a Sisyphean task in catching up.

Wade, though with way more pluses than negatives, at least in this instance, made a decision while running scared.

He's allowed, but next time, play to win. Or at least catch up.

Yes, that was a stupid call. There's no excuse for it.

An overreation? Call it a wake-up call.

Phillips said in hindsight he would have gone for it. I don't think he or the staff need a wake up call or lessons in coaching. He made the call and it did not work out.

I thought it was a terrible call on 3rd down to throw a fade to Hurd and an even worse call to kick the FG there. Romo has not thrown a good fade pass this season. For a second I thought Dave Campo was coaching the Cowboys again when they kicked the FG.

If our defense had a pattern of stopping Pats then I would have agreed with that FG, but we couldn't stop Pats offense and in my mind, we should have gone for a TD.

I don't consider that move as a meltdown, rather I think they simply made a mistake (conservative) on that call.

is that wade or garrett who ultimately made that call? there isn't a one of us on this board who'd NOT have gone for the TD. the problem is we'd have gotten it and someone would have been in motion, false start, holding - something.

then the whiner fans come out and say how we're cheated even through we're making stupid penalties - it's not our fault.

but yea, that FG was our white flag.

The FG decision was terrible, but I still want someone from the media to ask Wade *** he was doing calling timeouts with 130 left and the Pats trying to run the clock out.

I agree I hate when teams do that, it is just moronic.

that's a big reason why i can't yell at the pats. you wanna stop, stop. you wanna make moves like you're still fighting, they will too.

coachinig needs to run some windsprints also i think.

Let's also throw Ware and Ellis in pass coverage instead of rushing the passer. Ellis should never be in pass coverage. Also we don't need Carp or James(yesterday) in the dime package covering the middle of the field.

Yeah, I didn't understand that call either, but overall I liked what they were doing. The Cowboys lost because they didn't execute. Penalties on offense and third downs on defense.

Yes it was a bad decision and what's done is done. If we had gone for it and didn't make it they would have probably still scored. :laugh2:

Hopefully the next time Wade makes a better decision.

It was an idiotic call and I almost totally embarrassed myself at someone else's house who happens to be a Pats fan while surrounded by about 8-10 others. At the time I had a glass of water in my hand and I wanted to throw it full tilt at his television. I refrained.:

The FG call was awful. Wade said in hindsight he would have went for it. WTH? Why not go for it in Foresight or nowsight (don't think that's a word)? You can't coach backwards.

With that said, I think overall Wade has done a great job and roasting him over a bad call against one of the best teams in the league is stupid. The Pats will come back down to Earth and eventually lose. As will the Colts. No one will go undefeated. But I hope that this coaching staff takes some lessons from the game tape because we very well could see them again in Arizona.

Plus we should have some of our injured starters back as well after the bye week, so all isn't lost and the sky is not falling.

Well, if nothing else, at least the Cowboys did score 27 against the Pats. I think the most points they have given up so far is 17...

1. A good lesson for the coaches
2. A good lesson for the team
3. Soon some of the Boyz players will be back healthy
4. A bye week coming up for the injuries to heal and the lessons to sink in.
5. Tank will be coming in to help out for down the stretch
6. 5 - 1 is not a bad spot to be in
7. The RedStinks lost too!!
8. The Pats know they were in a fight - 2 of their players limped off and Brady got hit more than usual.
9. The bad play call for the field goal will not happen again
10. Today is a new day.

I will let the dirty play of the Pats and the horrible officiating speak for themselves.

All in all...hey! I'm happy!!

;)

OK, I can forgive Wade for that.

What I can't forgive is having a glass of water during the game.
I guess we know who DOES NOT wear the pants in the family, Mr. No-Thanks-I'm-having-some-tap-water.

Yeah the crowd was angry and it was a head scratcher for sure.

It made NO sense.

Dallas has a decent red zone offense. Here is where you take advantage of marion barber and pat crayton and sam hurd, etc.

Make the FG, you still need 2 scores.

go for it and not get the TD, you turn the ball over inside the 5 and... you still need 2 scores but again...the ball is inside the 5.

It was a coaching meltdown on that particular play.
last I heard we were allowed to point out questionable calls.

And the sky is not falling, but the Cowboy braintrust needs to play to win or catch up and not play meek and roll up into a ball.
