I have been critical of Garrett over the years-- and JJ has stubbornly stuck with him. I gotta give props.

We have assembled a staff of good coaches-- and we have kept them together now for 3 years. What role does coaching continuity play (if any) in our success? As much flack as Garrett has taken over the years for his "process" -- are we finally seeing the fruit of his philosophy in Dallas?

The proof is in the pudding. If they give Marinelli 2 or 3 more difference makers this defense would be kicking butt. Maybe a couple are already on the team that won't make a difference until next year,,, Smith, Tapper, Gregory

One of my bigger arguments for Garrett and this staff is just that. Coaching continuity (if you have the right ones), is huge. Not just in getting the starters ready, but in getting the the systems institutionalized to the point where the backups know it cold. Where young players can come in and all the veterans at their positions groups know exactly what's required and can help. Where bringing guys in off the streets can be jumpstarted for similar reasons.

The same goes for the scouting department. If you know what's worked in the past, and you know what types of players your system requires, you have an advantage in putting together a board. You get 3-4 years of customizing the personnel for your system and it has an effect on your success rates.

People said the same thing in 2014 and then we flopped in 2015. Garrett is finally and officially been relegated ONLY to that which he does well. Which is cheering and clapping on the sidelines during games. And then being likeable and keeping the team together during the week.

We have two strong coordinators that run the offense and the defense and the football stuff on game day.

It also appears to me that Garrett is getting behind Dak going out of his way to talk about how awesome he was this week. If can somehow talk Jones into sticking with Dak that will be a feather in his cap.

We said that in '14...Garret is a 6M puppet. He screwed up time management at the end of the 1st half only to have the D and Dak bail him out. Just promote Rod and JG can play footsie with Charlotte away from football matters.

Continuity with Garrett alone has done little. He has been here for 10 years and that had no affect on winning. The continuity part that is now bearing fruit is with the coordinators. We finally have strong coordinators that have been here for at least 3 years and they are both in full command of their side of the ball without any meddling.

Completely agree on the scouting department as well.
