So you dismiss the vast majority of the evidence/statistics to focus on a tiny subset that supports your opinion? Got it.
I mean so Dak made Kellen Moore because he certainly can't reproduce the numbers Dak gave him with "Better" QB's.....

But in your opening post you said that McCarthy should have been fired after the Green Bay game. Why is one being held to postseason results and not the other? Again I dont understand the lack of consistency here, maybe there is a HC vs Coordinator argument to that?

Depends on one's perspective. My view is that game was over by halftime, and the reason was not the defense.
Dak was terrible in the first half for sure. But look at the defense’s performance in the first half:
  • Gave up 12 play 75 yd drive, TD on opening drive.
  • (After Dak INT) 3 play 19 yd drive, TD.
  • Gave up 10 play, 93 yd drive for a TD. (This was a backbreaker)
  • The packers offense was a whopping 6 for 7 on third downs in the first half.
  • The packers had 7…seven plays of ten or more yards in the first half!
Yes, Dak and O was terrible in first half. But our defense gave up 7.7 yards per play, gave up 6/7 third downs in conversions, and gave up two long backbreaking drives.

I liked Dan Quinn when he was here, but we can’t gloss over how horrible his defense was vs the packers last Jan.

It was 100% a failure of the players. They didn't even try. What are the coaches supposed to do when the players refuse to try?
I don't have an answer for that, but I do think when the team comes out flat, it points to the head coach.

It really boils down to what one believes was the underlying cause.

But how would the defense have performed if Dak had not put them in an impossible situation?
We'll never know, but we can look at how the defense performed in other games.

The big question here is- which combination of coaches currently under consideration is better than Quinn + Moore?
Whoever is going to hold Jerry accountable for upgrading the roster. If that doesnt happen the coaching staff really wont matter. I highly doubt Kellen Moore would have had more success this year than we had under McCarthy/Schottenheimer.

i mean then why not say
"How would the offense have performed had the defense stopped GB on the first drive, they killed teams all year with a lead"...the truth is they sucked all over including DQ..thats just the truth.

Head Coach Dan Quinn
Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore

McCarthy should have been fired after the Green Bay game. JJ waited a year too long. It was actually shocking that Dallas didn't fire him immediately. This was both simple and easy. Just promote Quinn to head coach.

Likewise, the ouster of Kellen Moore was a bizarre move. His offense was second in scoring in the entire NFL during his tenure, and one year he had both the highest scoring and highest yardage offense in the league. Dallas lost a respected OC just to please McCarthy, who was gone a short time later. Dallas got this backwards.

By simply retaining KM, and firing MM when they should have, Dallas could be sitting here with a pretty solid coaching staff with Quinn at head coach and Kellen Moore as offensive coordinator. This combination absolutely crushes any of the possibilities being debated now.
That coaching staff looks “solid” because they have functioning GMs and FOs that got them actual talent

If DQ and KM were here with the 60 million dollar man you would be blaming them right now

Well we know the defense gave up a 12 play 75 yard TD drive before the offense ever took a snap. Not defending Dak’s horrible play, but the defense was awful too. Also gave up a 10 play 93 yard TD drive. Ouch. Both sides of the ball stunk.

What percentage of playoff games do teams win when their QB gifts the other team 14 points?
I'm still waiting for the playoff stats statboy. You were so quick to post them for the regular season.

I could also tell you to add in December games vs playoff teams. Then I'll answer your silly question

do you wanna do this for 200+ rushing yards against 30 points against..again there was no bright spot anywhere in that game..the defense got run off the field in the opening drive and that didnt change until they put the backups in.
