madden used to let you make your own plays, but they left that and a lot of other great features out.

They let you customize everything in the create a team mode and then only give you like 12 colors to use for uniforms?

That would be about the only way I'd consider playing, if they let me design my own offensive and defensive plays. Some of my former employees were really too much into it and had cheat sheets that had at X seconds do Y or something that allowed them to beat other people. I asked what they were doing as far as the plays, but all they knew was that a certain series of well timed events allowed a greater gain on a certain type of play.

To me that isn't playing a "football" game, its playing Simon within a half-* football simulation.
