how can the guy they found only say "oh, we were seperated at some point"..
what the hell it's not like a tsunami washed them 10,000 feet away in an instant or the whale that swallowed Jonas was passing by.... I'm sure he could have at least seen which direction they floated away in
this is very angering to me that they weren't found
You must understand that they were in 14 ft Seas. It's not just one wave but multiple waves through out the night and most of Sunday. It is litterally all you can do to keep your head above water. Imagine the constint bombardment of waves. Eventually, it gets to a point where you can't even clear the sea water from your eyes. The salt just burns. Once you move beyond the break of one wave, you will not be able to see each other because of how waves work. For example, if you have 14 foot seas, what that really means is that the distance between an object on the other side of the wave is approximatly 28 feet. Not only would you have to see over the top of the wave (14 feet high) but you also have to be able to see another 14 feet down to the trough of the wave. Crest being 14 feet high and trough being 14 feet lower. Now, imagine having a wave of that magnitude crashing down on you in rough seas. It is really a minor miracle that the one young man was able to hold on.
Once I heard that these boys were in seas of 14 feet and gusting, I pretty much knew there was no chance. They did not die of Hypothermia and perhaps that is best. God willing, the seas knocked them unconcious and they passed in no pain.
I don't think anybody really understands what it is like to be in those kinds of seas, adrift in foul weather conditions in complete darkness, unless you have had a chance to experience it first hand. You honestly have no idea which way is up. I have seen men lose equiplibrium and swim in the wrong direction attempting to reach the surface. I am sorry for those men and their families.
From the Commen Book of Prayer (Not the Bible)
We therefore commit this body to the deep, looking for the general Resurrection in the last day, and the life of the world to come, through our Lord and savior, whose second coming in glorious majesty to judge the world, the sea shall give up her dead;
