Someone please explain why we are the only team that doesn't defer when we win the coin toss? We did the same thing when Garret was coach. Is this a GM thing?

When the best unit on the team is defense you should let them take the field first.

Do we really feel that we're great on offense to take it instead of getting the ball after half time??
This is all strategic, not for us, we win the coin toss we WANT THE BALL, and then it's only to have a quick 3 and out!! Why??!!!!

If I had no faith in my defenses I wouldn’t defer either. I’m not sure if that’s the case but that’s why I’d do it. Get my offense on the field and score first and put pressure on the opposing team.

I think it’s mental. To give offense some confidence. Doesn’t seem to work. I’d rather have my team try and score at 0-0 as opposed to down 0-7.

In OT I want the ball first . Until the flags started flying the offense was headed for at least 3 maybe more . In OT do not want Rodgers on the field if at all possible .
To start the game it shows confidence in your O . Deferring is a recent phenomenon. Teams that won toss usually took the field thinking score in the not so distant past . MM & KM are not wedded to “ analytics “. Good or bad as it turns out . KM should have kept the ball on the ground on that last drive and MM should have insisted on it .

It is and that’s why I’m shocked to see them sticking with it. If I’m the Chiefs I do it. This team is too inconsistent to be this arrogant.

In my opinion it was in the hope of getting an early lead so Green Bay would feel pressure to throw and we could rush. But even when we were up 14 they continued to run and were effective doing it.

I wouldn’t do it if I were the Eagles either but they seem to be scoring far more consistently then us it seems.
