i understand that stance..but in a way i want to see if this o-line is ready to impose their will.

If we're assuming that our defense is going to get blasted again, then it's even more reason to defer until the second half. If we take the ball first, Garrett is much more likely to be conservative and try to play the "establish the run" and "field position" game, such as punting from the Eagles' 36-yard line. If we take the ball first in the second half instead, Garrett might understand that we actually need to score points to win, not just run the clock and punt.

I think the pyschological effect is greater if we stop them on the first drive of the as opposed to us scoring on the first drive of teh game.
