This is not specific to the Packers, but I would prefer defense first.

That way you get a chance to get good field position (if you stop them of course) for your first series and you get a chance to reset the game if needed coming out of the half with the ball first.

As a bonus, you have a chance to score at the end of the half and get the ball right back to start the second half, which could swing or add 6-14 points to the score if you score on both.

offense 10-0 when we score first - 2-5 when we don't - BobHaze posted this on another thread.

Only thing that's stopping me from taking the ball first is the packers are one of the best 3rd quarter teams - so maybe let them start while they are shakey?

Kick, especially since it's a playoff game. There will probably be some nerves, so let the Pack have to play offense first before they've fully acclimated to the game. Stop'em and get the ball back. Then we get the ball first in the second half. But if we lose the toss and the Packers kick, don't worry. We can win the game either way.

If our boys are ready to embrace the moment, it would be ideal to take the ball & put up a tuddy right out of the gate so the opponent knows they might have to score on almost every possession.

Given that they are a very young & inexperienced team though, I lean toward deferring and seeing if their nerves plays defense for us.

I'm not afraid to get the ball 1st but If they do just be aggressive.
