The ONLY way I see Bill going to Detroit is if they wanted him to replace Matt Millen as GM...I doubt he would go to become the next HC.

Jarv said:And to add to that...BP's expertise is rebuilding defenses.
BP and Bledsoe to Detroit...1 or 2 1st rounders to us.
Heck, he's supposed to leave in 2007 anyway. Why not.
ABQCOWBOY said:I actually like there personel on both sides. Defensively, they have an excellent front 7, talent wise.
Cory Redding (starting to understand the NFL has the physical ability to play a 34 OLB), Rogers, Wilkerson, Hall, Kalimba Edwards, Shawn Cody out of USC and that kid Swancutt out of Oregon on the DL. They have Holmes and Bose Baily at LB. In the secondary they have Dre Bly, RW McQuarters Andre Goodman. They got some things to work with.

CaptainAmerica said:Agree. I think this is what Parcells is really looking for, a G.M. job, which he knows he will never get in Dallas.
I believe he wants to be closer to New Jersey, that's why the Jets G.M. rumor makes some sense.
For everyone who is blindly saying Parcells is coming back, I think it's time for us to wake up and realize he might have something "cooking" that we don't know about.
Dave_in-NC said:Its Millen trying to save his azz for another week. If he doesnt land a big fish hes done.
Jarv said:As long as we are compensated for letting him go. Detroit and the Jets have good draft spots. A 1st from either of those teams gives us 2 1st rounders in the top 18...Not too shabby.
WoodysGirl said:And to add... John Clayton on his blog mentioned Russ Grimm the OL coach for Pitt as tops on Millen's HC list.
More on searches: Steelers offensive line coach Russ Grimm is going to be a big player in the Detroit Lions' search once it begins. Interim coach Dick Jauron isn't expected to be retained. Grimm has always been a favorite of Lions president Matt Millen; some people think Grimm is the leading candidate. The Packers made contact with the Steelers and plan to interview Grimm over the weekend.
Jim Haslett's phone wasn't quiet Monday after he was fired by the Saints. The Lions are expected to set up an interview for later this week, possibly as early as Thursday. Haslett should hear something from the Lions on Tuesday. Haslett left the Saints with one year remaining on his contract at $3.2 million.

Hostile said:I'll tell you the name Detroit needs to be all over...Mike Martz. His system is WR friendly and makes QBs no one has heard of look attractive.

Ten Things I Think
c. Bill Parcells will probably return, with an extension, for his fourth Dallas season.
Now I think it makes even more sense.BrAinPaiNt said:You just want martz to detroit because you figure he would trade Mike Williams as Martz is all about speed.
Just Kidding.
Ken said:NFL's hottest rumor.
Is there a schred of truth to this?
He can retire, but if he leaves this team high and dry, I will hunt him down!
CrazyCowboy said:Suppose Matt Millen wants his high profile coach and is willing to make BP the highest paid coach in the league!
Wheat said:Tuna to Detroit?
I don't buy it (yet).
