Cold weather - will it be a problem

And Texans still know NOTHING about cold. It was 40 below zero here last night and 20 below today and it's been that way for most of the last week.

Well I can't say its -40 here...but I'll agree that Texans don't know crap about the cold

When I was down in Texas for the SD game, my cousin that I stayed with had the heat at 72 in his house and it was only in the 40s outside :laugh2:
My heater is at 64 and it's in the teens.

Also...they don't have Labatt down there. what the ?

One of my first real estate deals was with a couple moving down from Maine. In addition to being genuinely worried they couldn't afford the heating bills in the homes we were looking at with 12-18 foot open ceilings, they were concerned when the swimming pools started to freeze over. They couldn't honestly get their heads around the idea of us only having 8-10 days of freezing weather a year.

I remember the husband saying something to the effect they should have moved 20 years ago.

It is cold as a mofo outside.

Last night the air temp in KC was -4 with a windchill of -30. Expect much of the same the next 3 days.

and here is a fun stat.

the coldest game ever played at texas stadium was 27 degrees and it was against philly in the 95 divisional round, played in january 1996.

the last two days have been the coldest days in north texas since 1996.,

About 3 weeks ago up here in Edmonton it was -47C (-53F) with -59C (-74F) including the windchill overnight. I do believe it was the coldest day ever in Edmonton. I didn't go outside that day at all. At work on Monday, everyone was talking about it.

When Edmontonians are amazed at how cold it is outside, it is frickin cold.

BTW, not having to play cold weather is definitely in our favour. Romo is one of the shorter QBs in the league and probably has one of the smaller sets of hands in the league. Having large hands is a definite plus for throwing in cold weather.

A couple of weeks ago I looked at Romo's stats to see if there was a correlation between how well he has played and the outside weather. It definitely looks like he is a warm weather QB as his numbers were much worse on the bad weather days in November-December.

The problem is Romo's inability to throw in the cold. McNabb is okay in the cold or seems to be less bothered by it than many other QBs.
