I'd rather get rid of Scott Linehan... especially if he cannot deploy both ankle breakers in the game at the same time to create a mismatch.
If we can't stretch the field vertically we might as well do it horizontally.

I don’t care much for Linehan and when we drafted Switzer I swore up and down we would use both Beasley and Switzer simultaneously in mid to short yard passing plays. I got the impression last season Linehan did not take the time to develop a scheme for that but rather the opposite which was to keep the scheme from the 13-3 season. What I wonder is if Linehan gives much thought to our running game as a whole and what that means for the WR such as what type of routes they can run because of it.

An example would have Zeke command more penetration from defenses in the middle which would allow Beasley and Switzer to attack the middle while keeping Dez and or Williams further down the field. Dez will most likely call for a double team early on anyway.

If Linehan doesn’t want to use both players but rather just plug one player over another then we do need to get something for Beasley because by the time we get a new OC (1-2 years) Beasley will lose more value. If you look at it from a insurance approach like Beasley injured so we have Switzer then you will not upgrade due to factors of same routes, physical traits, mobility etc.

Saves $ and we drafted what should be his replacement already...really not that crazy of an idea. Obviously if a trade is available it would be the smarter move.
If we want to improve the WR Corp someone has to go, just a sheer #’s game. It should be Dez, no question, but whether that actually happens is questionable. If not Dez, Cole becomes the next logical choice. Hence why the conversation of cutting Beasley comes up.

Exactly......he's just a year removed from leading all WRs with 75 catches ( maybe off ) 2016. His contract is reasonable with one year left, he's healthy and frankly, I think he exactly the type of receiver they want for the Dak-friendly offense. In fact, I can't think of a single reason Beasley should be released.

He wont be released but i dont think he should just be handed the job this yr. Let him compete with Switzer. Switzer showed some nice things when he got playing time at the end of the yr. Even showed the ability to play outside too.

Well this is Beasleys last year under contract. So either extend him or trade him but for goodness sake I hope we don't just let him walk. I'd be all in for keeping him if we can get him and switzer catches. But if we can't spread the ball around more and get these young guys like brown and switzer who we drafted many more opportunities then some of these vets with expiring contracts need to go. Very hard to develop riding on the bench, they need to do more than block on the field.

It’s the live in the moment crowd here that wants to get rid of him. Everyone loved him in 2016 when he led the team in receiving but now that he had a down year he sucks. If it was up to the brainiacs here we would be getting rid of every one of our receivers. There isn’t a receiver the team has that some don’t want to get rid of.

We just resigned him to a team friendly contract. But he can be replaced too. Beasley is first in line because he’s a FA next year

Colossally dumb. How many receivers are going to take routine double teams for a 3.25mil salary?

Our one WR who can get open if single covered, and we cut him? No. Beasley is a bargain.

I actually hope they buy low on Beasley and extend him this year.
