He's a gamer. He is one of those guy's who, no matter the sport, he's one of the first guy's you pick to be on your team. You can tell he loves to compete. You don't brave that storm of 300 pound bodies who actually want to hurt you if you don't love it.

Observe:

These were just a few that I could find, but if memory serves, I'm sure there are more.

Wow...that one where the Commander guy tackles Cole with the facemask...it sure looks like the guy deliberately grabbed the facemark, hung on to the facemark...and used the face-mask for all the leverage he could. That was some serious thuggery.

Here's why I disagree:

With Beasley's innate ability to find space, the only consistent way to stop him, is to box him in with outside and inside coverage's. If the defense is forced to commit resources to stop him, like they do with Bryant and Witten, that means more space to work with for all of the offensive skill players.

Good point...
The tandem of Beasley and Written own the area between the hashes. It gives Romo perfect check down pieces. He gets open, catches everything and gets first downs. It puts the defense on edge when the little guy starts making plays on them..LOL

I think it is forgotten that Dez's presence on the field is what mostly creates the matchup nightmare that is Cole Beasley. That "elite" route running is not going to be all that if he gets matched up against starting corners instead of backups, safeties, and LBs

Cole is absolutely elite getting in and out of his cuts...one of the best in the league at that.

If he'd been also born with elite speed or more size/strength...wow...he'd be all-pro. Without either size or top straight-line speed his game will always be limited but he's sure surpassed my expectations.
I like the guy, I love receivers who just catch everything.

No, I think Cole would be a nightmare against most slot coverages. He pretty much well eats up anyone in 1-on-1 situations.

The beauty of Cole compared to Dez is that he gets open almost instantly so long as he isn't doubled. While Dez is a very hard cover when singled up his routes tend to take time to develop.

With all of the uproar over the latest Dez news, I thought it might be a nice change of pace. Granted, the following video is a highlight video and tells the most favorable story against not-the-best-of-talent, it still suggest that Beasley has alot more to offer then what has been tapped into thus far. He's a cross between Witten and Dunbar; he doesn't have elite speed, but he knows how to create separation with his route running and above-average quicks in a way that makes him an easy target, despite is smaller size.

I think he is in for an expanded role in the upcoming year...or, at least, I hope so.

If you go back and look at our offensive explosion late in the year a good chunk of it was increased utilization of the empty backfield and a large chunk of it was getting the ball to Cole. He is just a nightmare matchup when he is singled and has a 2-way release.

The big problem we have with putting Cole out there is that he gets overpowered so much in the running game that it really limits what we can do when we have him in there. It'd be great if he could become a better blocker as it would allow us to use him more in non-passing situations.

I disagree with you. Granted, there are specific plays were Bryant has an impact on the field, but that is not always the case. Beasley truly is on another level when it comes to route running and lateral agility, and regardless of were Bryant is on the field, Beasley coming out of the slot by design is going to be up against lb's, safeties, and 3rd corners the majority of the game; that is the nature of the slot wr position. And that is also what makes Beasley's skillset a very valuable commodity.

Obviously I'm a little biased when it comes to Beasley. I think he makes a huge leap this year. He is super quick and I'm not saying he's a burner but he's got a little juice to separate. He's an incredible athlete. I'm thinking everyone has seen the Youtube videos where he's dunking. He might be small but he's a big time player. And as a slot receiver, You're not going to find a better player. I'm pretty excited to watch the passing game this year
