Weren't you JUST saying in another thread that JJ gave Dak "nothing but the best" throughout his career. Now you start a post about JJ being a fraud...

Seriously... are you ok?
Where did I post JJ is a fraud?

I actually think Al was better at his job than Jerry.

Al at seemed like he cared about winning. Jerry just seems to care about making money.

I think we can all agree with Al on one that and that is "just win, baby".

Al Davis' quote was directed at his team, while Jerry's is directed at his pocketbook. Yep, big difference.

Thats what this thread you started is about.

When a person or in your case troll quotes a twitter post, with zero input. People are gonna automatically think you agree with what you quoted.

Do you agree with what Colin said or not?

That’s the industry in a nut shell. Who can yell the loudest with the most outlandish takes. Dallas is low hanging fruit. The sad part is the morons that believe it
Dallas is low hanging fruit for 27 very good reasons.
The sad part are the morons who can’t see what the main reason for this is.

He can be correct and not talk about Dallas. There is very little reason to discuss a franchise having no appreciative reverence. He should not devote any time for the Cowboys in any of his segments. Instead, he should wait until the team meets his definition of reverence. Then he would have a logical reason to speculate what happened that turned things around.

That will never happen though. Cowherd is one of, if not the, top paid sports talking heads. Fox Sports made certain of that. The network and he are voluntarily compelled to devote conversation about the franchise to retain a significant percentage of his audience and maintain his market share.

Even so, I would be surprised if Cowherd or any of his peers would ever take their slant to the next level. I am certain the rest of the league's fans would not miss listening to their almost daily heehawing about the Cowboys. It would allow more time devoted to talking about their franchises instead.

this is correct
This is exactly why by midseason we will be in his top 5 only to fall out again later

Comparing Jerry to Al is an insult to Al Davis. Al was a shrewd coach, scout, and General Manager for a ton of years before he lost his way. Although Al did oversee the Raiders in a SB at least in the 21st century.

Jerry? Well, one day he was shootin' at some food and up from the ground came a bubblin' crude....and the next thing ya know he owned the Dallas Cowboys....
But but but Jerry built the most valuable US sports franchise...huh...huh..beat that...no Superbowls or CCG appearances but worth a lot of money...huh huh huh...come on aren't you proud?

Us fans have known this for about 25 years. This is not new news. Jerry only cares about driving up the value of the franchise. SB’s are already in the bag, his legacy is already set. Giving up control will only deflate his ego. Adding a 4th SB win for him is not worth the changes he has to make.

Al Davis was, at least, a devoted football guy, while Jerry is, at best, a rich millionaire posing as one.
That's surely not a pretty picture for the fans! :omg: Sadly, Stephen's not any better, on a good day.

If it wasnt for Jimmy, Jerry could have been/is argurbly one of the worst owners in football history.

Davis forgot more about football then Jerry will ever know in his lifetime. Dude just went senile.

Now Jerry as an entertainment industry builder is unrivaled. Well Jimmy also had a huge hand in this starting it off

This is one of the reasons I do not listen to Cowherd. This is an easy comparison but not at all fair.

Al Davis was more like George Steinbrenner, impulsive and at times a little wacky.

Jerry Jones is not impulsive, he is incompetent for other reasons. The Cowboys are a far more stable franchise than Davis's Raiders.

We have to remember, the Cowboys are the most valuable franchise in the NFL. They are also the most popular. In their position they get a lot of attention other teams couldn't hope to get and that means every apparent failure is magnified 1000 times. But Cowherd could not get attention for himself if he talked about the Jets ownership or other teams that are perennial losers.
