Garrett's calling the offense... It starts at the top and you have to question 42 pass attempts to 25 rushes. Well, i will question it.

Even as good as their Dline was, let the Oline have a chnce to punch guys in the mouth and run run run.

Romo was also sacked 5 times so it was really 47 pass attempts

That being said, I used to argue Romo was a top 5 QB in the league, then I argued he was Top 7 or 8. Well I'm done arguing, I'll let him prove himself good or bad.

Good call Count..

Romo needs to prove it on the damn field. No more people should be here tellling us why he's a top 5 Qb. That doesnt matter. What matters is romo getting his head out of his *** and start playing with some ballls again.

Sorry but it's true.

ok, now email the NFL Office about that.

thats not what I said. I have no problems being critical about the team. I am myself.

My issue is, acting like collin cowherd has a clue.

He doesn't. Him talking about qb mechanics is laughable.

Someone mentioned that 4 of those were coverage sacks. If true, that is an issue but it also speaks to the protection the line gives him.

My problem with Cowherd is he talks about Romo every week and almost everyday. If he isn't that good why does Cowherd keep talking about him. It's like he wastes 15-20 minutes a day or week discussing how bad Romo is. If he's that bad why waste your airtime talking about him.

True, he may not be Brian Broadus, the official GAC Scout but there is alot of truth in what he says.

He said:

Tony Romo is extremly talented - True

Tony Romo needs structure and discipline - True

Tony Romo is just as good as Ben Rothleisberger but doesn't have the structure - True

Wade Phillips is the biggest problem with this team - True

The Cowboys are .500 after 2007 - Probably True (I haven't looked it up)

So yeah, he may not be qualified to talk about mechanics but that doesn't make everything else he said false.

kill the messenger is the wrong tactic

plus repeating what scouts & sources say is his job. never heard him try to make himself out as a supreme talent evaluator (aka like jerry does).

****CONTINUED with Trent Dilfer on The Herd*****

Tony Romo has always felt the game was riding on him

You see Peyton Manning do it, but that is an exception

Tony Romo didn't play well, but you could see it in his body language that he felt that he needed to do more and that is when you get into trouble

I think every QB goes through that when they start being concerned about throwing interceptions

When you start telling yourself you can't take chances because your accuracy goes down because you are less decisive

Tony is very accurate but when he starts thinking too much, he is less accurate

I think the Cowboys are a good team and I am not freaking out. They just gotta grow and identify what is wrong. I think they are going to be in the mix at the end

We see patterns from the previous year showing up again

I guess today is "Trash Romo Day" on The Herd. Back to talking about the way he dresses. Tony is not an illusion. The illusion has been winning games for this team for 3 years. The illusion has broken all kind of passing records since he's been the starter.

He threw one past high yesterday now suddenly healways throws high, is inaccurate and has the worst mechanics in football? Don't eat the cheese. A couple bad games does not redefine a player.

He had three high throws in a row in one posession alone. Did you watch the game?

I've lost count of how many passes have been off target this season, it's a hell of a lot more then 1 though

I (and Cowherd) spoke of the 1 high pass. Cowherd said he always throws high which is absolutely false. He made an absolute statement based on one pass.

That's my thoughts exactly ... let the guy continue to try and prove himself as long as he's the QB. I've seen him play much better. I believe he can.

It's the TO-affect. The media gets a story that they believe will get rating s and they beat it to death. Colin knows, he claims to be an expert on ratings. Romo is the newest ratings darling.

I also believe his confidence is not in a good place right now ... which is bad news for this team.

1 minute left in the game and they show a shot of Tony Romo on the bench and his head is down and stressed, which is the opposite of Tom Brady

Romo looked like he was saying, I hate losing.

With a 1:46, which is a lifetime, you had Tony stressed

I dont agree with this at all. It doesnt matter what Brady does, Romo went out there and made some plays to get the team in position to win. He threw a perfect pass to Hurd but Bailey made a play (though he did PI) and we lost but it doesnt have anything to do with Romo having his head down. Maybe that is how he gets himself focused.

As inaccurate as he was, he still completed 60% of his passes.

I guess I didn't ... obviously you work on the film crew since you have the visual play by play. Spare me the "did you watch the game" crap. You either know he threw 3 high passes in a row or he didn't. Check yourself. I am not in the mood.

So I think we can all agree that watching the last game has really left Cowboy fans with a feeling of disappointment. And there are all sorts of Cowboy fans are scrutinizing all kinds of problems associated with this particular team. This thread aims at Tony Romo. While I believe it is warranted, I do not believe he should shoulder all the problems with the entire team. But he is the quarterback and does have a great deal of responsibility on his shoulders. But like most fans, I am pretty short-sided and tend to forget about all the games he won. I also forget that he hasn't played in 50 games yet. Maybe not the most accurate or appropriate thing to do, but I today I thought about Peyton Manning. How long did it take for him to win the big one? A couple of years. It takes a few years for quarterbacks to become great. Will that happen with Romo? Only time will tell. But my sense tells me he may not get there seeing as he is pretty consistent in choking in games where there is a lot of pressure. But I also think that maybe I'm wrong. Maybe he will be great. And if and when they do start to go back to their winning ways at least I can say I didn't give up on this team.

On the positive side, atleast we ate $9,000,000 in cap space to put our QB in a "Romo friendly" offense.

If you can't see that the philosophy is already paying dividends, I don't know what to tell you.................

The only thing I will agree with Cowherd is Tony sitting on the bench. When he is having a bad game the camera always finds him slumping on the bench. A lot of the time he is alone. Of course I'm not on the sideline but I can not imagine it inspires the team.

Agreed. I'm tired of wacthing him sulk on the sidelines like someone just shot his dog. I've been a romo defender, but I'm starting to think he dosent have the mental makeup to play in a city like Dallas. You have to be mentally tough and have thick skin to be able to handle everything that comes with playing QB for THIS team. I just see a guy continually coming up short on pressure situations and that just gives the cynics and doubters more ammunition.

Exactly. I honestly don't think he is mentally tough enough to play QB for Dallas.

It's the same picture of him holding his facemask after the dropped hold on the FG against Seattle.

He is what he is and it's not going to change.

I'm a big Romo fan and supporter but I'll admit that my faith is becoming more and more shakey in him since just after he came back from injury last year.

I still love the guy. I still think he has loads of talent. i still think he can be a championship quarterback. I just hate that the guy still does some things that just make me shake my head. That he just seems to lock up at the worst times to lock up.

I really want the guy to succeed. But he's slowly sliding down my list of QBs to where there are a few more around the league that I like much better.
