Colombo is starting.

I'm going to trust the staff, just dont like it.

Just heard on ESPN, Marc Colombo will be our starting RT.

No surprise, they've been saying it all week.

I expect we'll see Free some too. In fact I bet there are some short yadage plays where either he or Colombo will be one of the extra blockers.

Also, as athletic as Free is, I wouldnt be shocked to see a tackle eligible play today if we are close to the GL. There's a ton of film showing Barber over and over in short yardage sets. They might fake to him and throw to Free.

I think a little of both should be a positive.

Rest is good.

7 weeks ago, people were thinking the season was over because Free was unproven. Now they think the season is over because Free proved himself.

Ya'll kill me.

Fake the dive to MBIII and toss it out to Free?

I LOVE IT!!!!!!

I think you gotta stick with the hot player. Free is playing with a lot of confidence right now. Can't say I like this move.

Bad move...:banghead:

If we were playing a bigger DL like the Packers or Cards ...Okay

Free is a better matchup against the smaller quicker Eagle DL.

I was a bit leery of the move but Colombo has pretty much known all week he would play so I think he will have himself ready to go. He has been a good player for us I don't expect to see that change in this game.

Well again, just because Colombo starts doesnt mean he is locked into playing the entire game. I'm quite sure after a series or two if it looks like Colombo is struggling that Free will right back out there.

If he's shown he's healthy and the staff believes he is better than Free at RT, they are definitely doing the right thing. But it doesnt mean Free wont play no matter what, which is apparently what some of you believe. Free was active for every game this year before he took Colombo's spot, so nothing has changed with the roster.

Was thinking the same as I clicked on this thread.
Colombo is a known commodity and a pro; getting him back can't be a negative.

It's not like pulling Romo to reinstate Bledsoe.

Ponder this though the eagles have been going over and over tape all week with Free as RT. So what if ya stick Colombo in there and road grade that right side in the Running game maybe some cutbacks to that side after its been wiped clean with those two maulers lined up over there. A sucker punch waiting for its arrival?

Or Phillips being forced to pull his starter (Flutie) and play Rob Johnson.

With the short yardage struggles and Colombo going to start....

I really like dbair1967's idea of a tackle eligible play for Free in short yardage or using Free, with as athletic as he proved last week he is, to be the lead blocker for Barber on some critical plays.

Suisham opinion does not count. :laugh2:

Colombo is going to start and Free will also play as for Werder report it means nothing.
