He seemed to hold his own last year, but I don't think he would yet be considered a top tier tackle... Is it possible we are looking for an upgrade there? Plug in Bigg at RG and get a tackle and we are set. Not sure who is available, and Colombo may be one of the best options out there... I just don't recall him being spectacular by any means.

Same goes. Also don't forget last year was the first time he was able to play in several years, he beat out Pettiti & Fabini (admittedly maybe not the greatest competition) for the starting RT job and then played well the whole season-getting better as the year went on. In other words it was almost a rookie season for him with similar mistakes yet he more then held his own. Last year in the offseason he spent the whole time rehabbing his knee along with becoming a workout warrior so he could return to NFL physical form. This year he's one year removed from his rehab, he's gained valuable experience last year & certainly gained more confidence in himself and his knee. Frankly I expect him to perform even better then last year, partly because in the offseason weight conditioning program he now can spend all of his time getting physically fit instead of rehab.

I just think we should pony up, with Davis and Columbo we would dominate, he was a former first rounder we got for nothing, he came back from nowhere, pay him, we need him now, no rooks here, our run is now, TO isn't getting any younger..

I don't think Jerry would have problem with a deal that averaged 3-4 mill a year -- Colombo's (note correct spelling) agent however wants to see if there is mad money out there -- that's exactly how a free agent should handle this.

I wouldnt feel bad about paying him a good 3.5 mill a year. We took a chance on him and i think he should reward us.

I agree Julius- he should reward us. But that's why player's have agents. There is no loyalty my friend. If he can get $1 more elsewhere he'll go there. It's just a business. BTW-Every time I want to discount this guy-he's awkward at times, and gets off balance, etc.....someone reminds me of his game against Peppers. He's definately a battler. Tough call, because I seem to remember him struggling a little against the Giants on the Monday nighter. But he got better as the year went on. The whole problem is his injury history. If that wasn't part of the equation, he'd already be signed by now IMO.

IMO there's no FA out there who's an upgrade over Colombo. And I'm not sold on Davis being an upgrade if that's where he plays.

I think we should pay him simply for laying out D'Angelo Hall. Its just too classic!

Thats kinda actually along the lines of why I am all for keeping this guy. He has a mean streak in him (Big E), and thats exactly what L. Davis needs beside him. Maybe that will rub off alittle and they can dominate the right side for us for years to come.
