Colt McCoy as a 9er

Rebirth of a dynasty?

I like Colt but I'm not sure how he will do at the next level. The spread option offense is very effective on the college level just not sure how it will translate in the pros. I know Young has struggled with the more conventional pro style offense. Hard to say how Colt will do

i think colt is a much better passer than vince, and although he isnt quite as clutch, he is pretty close. I hope there is some way we can get him but i doubt it, we will be winning the super bowl and all. maybe he will have a terrible combine!

Oh I hope not. This senior year will be crucial for him to prove he can make in NFL.

I hope you are right. I'm a big Horns fan and I love Colt and hope he makes it in the NFL but I do have some doubts in large part because the spread option is such a QB friendly offense and it seems others have struggled making the transition

He'll be a first round pick.

He's 6'3 and has a good build.

He has the ability to buy time which is priceless at the next level.

Hes smart, accurate, and has more than enough arm strength to make every throw.

He has all the intangibles to be a NFL QB.

Teams are talking about Bradford being a top pick but after watching him last season all I would say he has is the size.

His arm strength is lack luster and he puts way to much air under the ball. Teams can get to his passes in the big leagues.

I will say Bradford is a accurate passer but at the same time he played behind a line that allowed him to sit nice and tall in the pocket all day.

A lot of college passers are going to make accurate throws with all day to throw.

I also saw where Loadholt took a lot of heat for having Orakpo eat his lunch but not all of that was his fault.

Bradford is used to being able to hold onto the football and in Loadholts case that was one of the reasons for him getting ate up.

Bradford supposedly added 15 pounds this offseason so it will be interesting to see if he can put some more mustard on his passes and get the ball out quicker.

I'd like to see him make more progression reads too but OU's offense really doesn't ask him to do that. Its a very QB friendly offense. Especially when the line blocked like they did last year.

Bradford is a hell of a QB and yes it pains me to no end saying that.

I think if anyone takes Bradford in the first round they're going to wind up very disappointed in a wasted draft pick.

Yes at the college level.

Unless he can get more on his passes he will get ate up in the league.

And nobody knows what type of QB he will be if he faces consistent pressure.

Hes had the luxury of being very well protected in their spread.

Against Florida he threw 41 passes for only 256, 2 TD's and 2 INT's.

After last year I would agree with you but he still has 1 more year in College to sharpen his skills.

If the arm strength doesn't get better than he will without a doubt struggle in the big leagues.

Also OU graduated most of their Oline but I doubt it makes much of a difference considering big 12 defenses suck other than Texas.

Refresh my memory but wasn't one INT on a tipped pass at the goal line and the other was a great defensive play made on a perfect pass?
Don't get me wrong here I hate taking up for Bradford and as I type this I'm trying to jam a pen through my temple but Bradford has plenty of arm strength, can get the ball out in a hurry when need be and is deadly accurate, plus he's 6'4" 235ish?

.

Bradford has a very good arm. Not average, way above it.

As far a McCoy goes--all I can say is I like him and I'm pulling for him to have a National Championship season.

If you think Colt will be a better pro than Bradford.....

Well just thank goodness you don't work in the Cowboy F.O.

The guy puts wayyy to much air under his passes and doesn't get much zip on his passes.

That may change this year because he added 15 pounds of muscle but in the past his arm strength is very average.

We'll see.

I've been right a lot of times about QB's.

The only QB i've missed on in a long time is Leinart and that book is still not closed. His biggest problem is he checks down to much.

I might miss on Brady Quinn too but the jury is still out.

Cutler. Nailed it.

Matt Ryan. Nailed it.

Carson Palmer. Chuh Ching

So far im right about Jemarcus Russell as well.

I was on the Eli bandwaggon even when his own fan base hated him and I was a huge Rivers fan too.

McCoy brings more to the table than Bradford.

The 2 biggest things Bradford has going for him is his size and his accuracy.

Im just not sure if hes that accurate or if him having all day to sit nice and pretty in the pocket plays a big factor.

He was in the best situation for a quarterback last year in the entire NCAA.

Yeah and thats when he gets into trouble a lot.

His deep ball has never been his specialty.

I think Bradford is very similar to Matt Ryan at this stage.

When they get him measured without shoes I'm willing to bet he isn't 6'3

He's probably more like 6'1...

You are correct... the one not only was a great downfield pass, but the OU receiver actually caught it and then allowed the DB to rip the ball from him. :bang2:

Here's the other INT from that game... a crazy play as well, but Sammy should never have thrown the ball into that coverage with such little time left in the half:
