Colt McCoy to start on Monday

Griffin just isn't ready. His throwing mechanics are very stiff because he isn't putting all his weight on the injured ankle.

I'd rather face Cousins or McCoy. They're both awful. I don't think any team in the league would trade their QB situation for Washington's.

Not surprising. The book on how to beat Cousins has been written: he's shown he can't handle the blitz. McCoy is still a bit of an unknown quantity at this point, which arguably makes him harder to gameplan. (I say "arguably" because you presumably throw the same blitz-happy package at McCoy that you would throw at Cousins, knowing that it's something with which most young QBs struggle.)

The biggest issue with Kirk that he was unable to overcome, and ultimately lost his confidence over, is his inability to make post-snap reads. He's very good at diagnosing what the defensive look is pre-snap, but after the ball is hiked he's making his reads too fast because he's deciding where to throw solely on what he saw pre-snap. DCs have been disguising blitzes, switching from a man look to a Cover 2, etc,. and Kirk has been throwing INTs directly to defenders he didn't think would be there because he didn't read the defense after the snap.

That is what I've seen from him and what I've been reading quite a bit about when people are talking about Cousins.

So the full report is McCoy to start unless Griffin is 100%.

They haven't even practiced yet. While I'm sure they privately have an idea, nothing will be confirmed until Wednesday-Thursday.....

They're just biding time until RG3 returns. Neither McCoy nor Cousins is a starter in this league.

not sure they have a nfl starting qb who can last 16 games on their roster. but they sure have lots of picks and money invested in qb's

Don't overlook anybody. Remember what we were saying about Austin Davis earlier this year? Does anybody remember our numerous embarrassments the last game of the season for the past umpteenth years?

Any team can lose any week. Ask the Hawks about the Rams. Ask the Browns who got blasted by the Jags. Ask the Chargers who got dropped by the Chiefs.

The narrative is changing and we're suddenly viewed as the big dog in the pen - it's only a matter of time before we get bit by the overly aggressive mutt who nobody thought would try it.

I agree. Colt may not be a long term solution but do not let him get on a roll in this game.
