Don't overlook anybody. Remember what we were saying about Austin Davis earlier this year? Does anybody remember our numerous embarrassments the last game of the season for the past umpteenth years?

Any team can lose any week. Ask the Hawks about the Rams. Ask the Browns who got blasted by the Jags. Ask the Chargers who got dropped by the Chiefs.

The narrative is changing and we're suddenly viewed as the big dog in the pen - it's only a matter of time before we get bit by the overly aggressive mutt who nobody thought would try it.

Well Austin Davis is a little bit better than McCoy. He beat Seattle, led early against us and the Niners, led a furious comeback against Philly. Give Davis some credit. He's at least decent. McCoy despite winning yesterday was not that impressive. That TD to Garcon was mostly Garcon running 50+ yards for a 70 yard TD. McCoy threw for 58 yards the rest of the game and he just handed off to Helu. Also Davis was an unknown. McCoy's been in the league for a while and is pretty much known what he can and can't do. I'm not worried about McCoy.

Who cares who starts for the Washington team.

Remember...this years mantra for the Cowboys towards their opponents is "nameless and faceless". Start whoever you want...bring it.

I love Aikman, but his love affair with Kirk Cousins was a head scratcher, just never saw anything at all special from him.

Austin Davis is pretty good. Yesterday he was very accurate and showed a lot of poise beating the almighty Seahawks.

He's awful with just enough spurts of skill/talent to keep him employed. He's a nothing and has a helicopter dad and a never-was brother named Case (failed ex-QB for the Universe of Texas).

We almost lost to Austin davis. I don't think it really matters who is QB against us. We just have to play our game and we should win.

Austin Davis had a 128 rating VS the Legion of Boom.

Him having a good game against us hasnt been looking so bad

I'd rather face Cousins or McCoy. They're both awful. I don't think any team in the league would trade their QB situation for Washington's.

Buffalo I think definitely would. At least RG3 or Cousins has the chance of being something semilong term. EJ Manuel is terrible and probably getting worse. And Kyle Orton is Kyle Orton. Right now Orton might be better then what they have in Washington, but he's basically a dead end.

Has this been confirmed? I just listened to Gruden's press conference and he said they won't announce a starter until they see Griffin practice on Wednesday. I'm sure they know privately but I don't think its been announced.

The only thing Gruden said was McCoy would start if Griffin is not ready.

Yea, I heard the press conference, Colt will start, unless RG3 blows them away. IMO, I don't think RG3 plays untill after the bye week. They want to see him practice a full week before game planning for him, so unless he's ready to go on Wednesday, he isn't playing.

Clint Longley...just sayin', any given quarterback on any given Monday...

Not saying he's good. Not saying Dallas will lose. But...

I dont have a bead on Colt. Are we scared of him? I never thought real highly of him at Texas, hes good, capable and competent. But I never envisioned him as a gunslinger or a deadly accurate passer. Dont recall him being a big runner. He was the quintessential bus driver from what I recall.

Oh the Mad Bomber. a funny story. My dad was in the military at that time, and him and a few buddies bet their check on the thanksgiving game against the skins, My dad put his money on the skins and was winning till Longley threw that pass. He lost his whole entire uncashed paycheck for the week (or month as he was Air Force). For a family of 5 kids living on a Staff Sergeants salary we all felt the loss of that, that month. His life and the families life changed right there. He came home and even though I was 10 I learnt about the dynamics of a loving relationship. What it means to be beaten down by life. I had never seen my mom so mad and depresses, she wasn't ok for a month it seems, and my dad was so pathetic, beat down and whipped, Never seen him like that before or since. I learnt what the Dog House is and what happens when you go there. I learn what retribution was as me being the biggest Cowboy fan in the house and my dad hating the hell out of the Boys right about then, he gave it to me slowly when Mom wasn't around. Stupid chores like pick a milk carton full of grass burrs (we called em stickers) and the occasional back handed "accident" . I was happy then sad then bizarre all on the same day.

That game is one I remember with perfect clarity and will never forget. Its more than just a game to me, I literally grew up because of this game. This is one of those moments when you think back and realized you actually changed and the world beame a lot bigger and a lot realer.

Sorry for the deviation on the thread but man, every time I hear Longley's name these feelings and memories come back. Good and bad. But I say this was paying my dues, I am invested in this team 100%. And in a small part because of Longley. He, me and the Cowboys are connected forever. (or the next 30-40 years anyways) .re-reading this, this dont sound so funny, but it really was. Guess you had to be there.

I want to play whomever is the best they have. The harder the competition we play, the better prepared for the playoffs we'll be.

Colt's not bad, but he isn't better than Eli, or Russell Wilson, or Drew Brees

The magnitude of the ill comparisons in that statement made me laugh. I wonder how much football the writer half seen. Or maybe you, after 5 years, emerged from a cave in Moldova.

Or maybe you is pulling our collective leg with that statement.

LOL
