He used to be a true #1 CB, but really fell off the last few years with the Vikings. I didn't follow him too closely, not sure if it was injury related or not.
After watching the Vikings d this year idk if he was the problem

D. Leonard today = 12 tackles, ZERO sacks. Colts D = 2 sacks. How is Leonard elite on a DWare level? What is he elite at, tackling? It isn't sacks. Since a poster said he was 5 times better than DLaw.
Leonard is an off ball lber what are you talking about hes not out there rushing the passer lol

The Vikings had to fix their cap structure, where several high priced players were let go. I did watch a few games last year and saw Rhodes was a shell of his former self, as teams went after him, rather then avoided him in year's past. He only got a 1yr 3 million contract, which is less then Anthony Brwon, which suggests the rest of the league thought the same.

This is so off base they have an elite player at each level of the defense. PFF grades at their position this year: buckner 4th, leonard 10th, and x rhodes 12th.

We have D law who only likes to be on the field for 60% of the snaps
Ive always been curious about this "stat" or whatever you wanna call it. The fact that Dlaw only plays a certain amount of snaps. Why? I was under the impression that it was kind of a Rod Marinelli kind of thing(keep your rushmen fresh by rotating them). Then i saw Dlaws snap count this season under the splash plays count. Very low snaps again. Is it him? The D coordinator? What? Is he only good in stretches? What kind of numbers would he put up if he played closer to 70-80% of the snaps? Or is that just not physically possible for him? What was his snap count in his 14 sack season? Heck even his 10 sack season? Would that make our D better? Ya know, have our better players out there longer? LoL

Idk but to me its so stupid. They dont realize that even if a guy is elite if he isnt out there it doesn't matter lol.

Gregory playing limited snaps could be the reason the DL was fired right away.
I like Gregory but he had 3.5 sacks this year and only has 10.5 in his entire 38 game career.
I think he could rise to a Pro Bowl level player for a couple seasons but I don't expect him to stop fans from dreaming about TJ Watt anytime soon.

Question yet to be answered is can he handle starter snaps over 16 games.

Dallas defense was just so so bad this year. It started off in a real poor state and injuries made it that much worse.
The FA choices were abysmal.

Leonard is an all pro? Myself don't follow the Colts. Is he prime Demarcus Ware good? Stats don't show it.
Yup was named All Pro. He's an off ball LB so nothing at all like Ware.
Think about the best version of Jaylon with no bad plays. That's Leonard.

Gregory was the more talented player then Watt when they were both drafted. He hadn’t had much of an off-season in any of his years due to his suspensions. Let’s see how he plays next season, could be a monster yr ahead

Eberflus is a good DC but I think OP is underrating the Colts' talent. Obviously Buckner and Leonard are elite players and the Cowboys have no one on that level. But Justin Houston is always good for nearly 10 sacks every season and Xavier Rhodes is a good CB and former Pro Bowl/All-Pro caliber.

When you have those players, it's a lot easier to surround them with a supporting cast. However, it obviously starts with two foundational pieces in Buckner and Leonard.
