Garrett: You be Pagano?
Pagano: I am Pagano.
Garrett: (Spits tobacco) I'm Jason Garrett.
Pagano: I have heard. You're the red head Coach up for a contract having trouble getting past 8-8. You would not make peace with the Eagles. You may go coach in the future.
Garrett: I reckon not. Got no other coaching job to go to.
Pagano: Then you will get beat.
Garrett: I called you to get beat and hurt your team in the process or for both of us to play in the playoffs healthy. Getting fired ain't so hard for coaches like you and me, it's winning that's hard; when all you ever cared about has been injured or traded. Owners don't live together, teams live together. With owners you don't always get a good GM or a good team. Well I've come here to neither give you either one, or get either one from you. I came here like this so you'll know my word of a healthy playoff team is true. And that my word of a playoff berth is then true. Baseball wins here, basketball, hockey, and the Colts. And now so will we. Now, we'll only play our best and run up the score quickly without hurting your team to win our division, same as the Colts. And every fall when the grass turns brown and the Colts play the Cowboys we'll let you win if your record is bad and trade a few players for the journey. The sign of the Colts, that will be on our stadium. That's my word of life.
Pagano: And your word of death?
Garrett: It's here in my McClain and Crawford to take out the knees of your offensive line and there in your gimpy wide out. I'm here for either one.
Pagano: These things you say we will have, we already have.
Garrett: That's true. I ain't promising you nothing extra but a healthy team for the playoffs. I'm just giving you health and you're giving me a playoff birth. And I'm saying that coaches can live together without taking each others job.
Pagano: It's sad that owners are GM'ed by the double-tongues. There is iron in your word of a healthy team for all colts to see. And so there is iron in your words of a playoff berth. No signed paper can hold the iron, it must come from coaches. The words of Pagano carries the same iron of healthy teams and playoff births. It is good that coaches such as we meet in the struggle of injuries and playoff games. It shall be health/playoffs. I would cut my hand and put it up to the phone however that would be kind of dumb.
Garrett: Darn I already cut my hand. Please don't tell anyone about that
Pagano: Whatever, see you Sunday.
