I think they TY and other ailing starters) are going to go through the motions all the way up until game time and be benched. Too much at stake with a non-bearing game at hand.
My concern (as I always have one) if we let down because they are not playing. I hope Matador Jason has the team fired up either way. If we could jump out into a quick and decisive lead early, I could see the colts pulling Luck out. Big "if" but you never know with our offense.

The Colts desperately need to get healthy and not much on the line in this game for them. They will either be the #3 seed or #4 seed and will win their first round of the playoffs and then go up against the Patriots or the Bronco's in the second round. Both are extremely touch match ups. I think we are a better team anyway. I see us winning this game.

from the colts SB nation site. Not sure of the usual tenor of their writers but it didnt strike me as confident that Hilton would play. Davis either:

A few notes:

  • T.Y. Hilton is day-to-day with his hamstring injury, head coach Chuck Pagano said today. On Monday, Pagano mentioned that Hilton's MRI was negative and said that he expected him back at practice later this week. The target date was Thursday, so we'll see if Hilton is out there practicing tomorrow. Pagano said today that he is "hopeful" that Hilton will be available for Sunday's game at Dallas. Today, however, Hilton - the team's leading receiver - didn't practice.
  • Vontae Davis also missed practice today with a groin injury, and obviously losing him would be crushing. The hope is still that Davis will play on Sunday, though, so this will be something to watch as the week goes on.
  • Hugh Thornton and Joe Reitz still aren't back practicing, but they're day-to-day. In addition, Gosder Cherilus missed practice today with a groin injury.
  • Josh Cribbs and D'Qwell Jackson both received a rest day today. Interestingly, for the second straight week Reggie Wayne practiced on Wednesday after taking that day off for a veteran's rest day for most of the season. Last week Pagano said they were trying different things with Reggie and rested him on Friday, so I expect that to be the case this week again.

Hilton update.

He is still not practicing on Friday

We thought we had it made in the shade when we heard we were facing Colt McCoy on the Monday night. Remember that.

I don't remember too many saying that, but yeah there were a couple of those tw who did--usually the ones that always underestimate our opponents.

On the other extreme, a columnist in Philly says that it is almost certain that Dallas will lose this week and Philly will re-take 1st place.

T.Y. Hilton, Vontae Davis Questionable for Colts; Three Offensive Linemen Ruled Out

Wide receiver T.Y. Hilton and cornerback Vontae Davis are officially questionable for the Colts' game on Sunday against the Cowboys, and three offensive linemen have been ruled out for the game.

This afternoon, Colts head coach Chuck Pagano ruled out three players for Indy's game in Dallas against the Cowboys on Sunday: right tackle Gosder Cherilus (groin) and guards Hugh Thornton (knee) and Joe Reitz (ankle). None of them practiced this week, so that's no surprise. The Colts also have two very notable players who are questionable: wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (hamstring) and cornerback Vontae Davis (groin).

When it comes to Hilton, the only work he did in practice was working with trainers on Friday. This season, 33 players have not practiced at all for an entire week, and zero of them have played. Three more are added to that list this week with the three linemen, but we'll see about Hilton. Chuck Pagano wouldn't rule him out, saying that, "this guy is pretty special, don't count him out." With that said, however, I still wouldn't expect Hilton to play, though there's still a chance.

He has been one of the best receivers in football this year, catching 82 passes for 1,345 yards and 7 touchdowns. He has 23 more catches and 663 more yards than any other Colt this season. In fact, his yardage total is nearly double the total of the second-leading receiver on the Colts (Coby Fleener). Without Hilton, it would be Reggie Wayne, Donte Moncrief, Hakeem Nicks, and maybe even Josh Cribbs as the receivers with tight ends Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener likely seeing increased reps. Another thing to keep in mind is the possibility that the Colts want to get Reggie some rest in advance of the playoffs, and if they decide to do that the receiver situation would look even worse. Either way, I'd expect to see more of the tight ends in the passing game if Hilton can't go.

Also questionable for the Colts is cornerback Vontae Davis, who has been dealing with a groin injury. If he can't play it would be just as problematic for the Colts, especially with Dez Bryant at receiver for the Cowboys. Davis has arguably been the best corner in football this year, and his value to the Colts is hard to overstate. He's their best defensive player. If he can't play then it would likely be a similar situation to a couple of weeks ago when he missed with a concussion, with Greg Toler taking over as the number one receiver and then Darius Butler and Josh Gordy seeing time at Davis' spot. Simply put, though, if Davis can't go the Colts will have a very, very tough task on Sunday against the Cowboys' offense and Dez Bryant.

Gosder Cherilus has been dealing with injuries for much of the season. He missed a game in week twelve with a shoulder injury and now he will miss this game with a groin injury. He has played very poorly this season and a reason for that has been the injuries, and so the Colts are likely trying to get him healthy for the playoffs. That's a wise move, but at this point it shouldn't hurt the Colts a ton because, as already mentioned, he hasn't had a good year. Expect Xavier Nixon to step in for him, especially with Joe Reitz out again (Reitz started for Cherilus in week eleven).

Hugh Thornton will miss his fourth straight game with his knee injury, and while Pagano has described him as day-to-day he still hasn't practiced since the injury. He was playing poorly before the injury as well, so it's not a huge loss. My expectation is that Lance Louis will start his second straight game there, but with the Colts and their offensive line you just never know. Additionally, Joe Reitz will miss his second straight game. He's a backup, but a valuable one and with two "starters" missing along the line this week it's very possible that Reitz would have played if healthy. He's not, though, as he's still dealing with his ankle injury.

Lol not to get off topic but that's all those sad little people are hoping for, their radio stations are CERTAIN Dallas will lose. Their obsession and inferiority complex is beyond belief.

They pretend that they're confident but they're not. Every time they hear that another Colts players is probably not going to play, it's another punch right in their gut. Body blow, body blow! I only wish there was a way to extend this psychological torture throughout the offseason. LOL.

I totally get the Colts wanting to rest thier players, but it seems odd that Pagano would commit that three starters on the o line are out but still being coy about Hilton. From what I have read the Davis injury sound truly 50 50 but looks very likely Hilton wont go.

Good to hear there's a fellow Eastwood fan out there. This was one of his best.

"Dyin' aint much of a livin,' Luck." That one doesn't work as well.

Maybe Garrett spits on Pagano's suit in the post game handshake.

Garrett: You be Pagano?

Pagano: I am Pagano.

Garrett: (Spits tobacco) I'm Jason Garrett.

Pagano: I have heard. You're the red head Coach up for a contract having trouble getting past 8-8. You would not make peace with the Eagles. You may go coach in the future.

Garrett: I reckon not. Got no other coaching job to go to.

Pagano: Then you will get beat.

Garrett: I called you to get beat and hurt your team in the process or for both of us to play in the playoffs healthy. Getting fired ain't so hard for coaches like you and me, it's winning that's hard; when all you ever cared about has been injured or traded. Owners don't live together, teams live together. With owners you don't always get a good GM or a good team. Well I've come here to neither give you either one, or get either one from you. I came here like this so you'll know my word of a healthy playoff team is true. And that my word of a playoff berth is then true. Baseball wins here, basketball, hockey, and the Colts. And now so will we. Now, we'll only play our best and run up the score quickly without hurting your team to win our division, same as the Colts. And every fall when the grass turns brown and the Colts play the Cowboys we'll let you win if your record is bad and trade a few players for the journey. The sign of the Colts, that will be on our stadium. That's my word of life.

Pagano: And your word of death?

Garrett: It's here in my McClain and Crawford to take out the knees of your offensive line and there in your gimpy wide out. I'm here for either one.

Pagano: These things you say we will have, we already have.

Garrett: That's true. I ain't promising you nothing extra but a healthy team for the playoffs. I'm just giving you health and you're giving me a playoff birth. And I'm saying that coaches can live together without taking each others job.

Pagano: It's sad that owners are GM'ed by the double-tongues. There is iron in your word of a healthy team for all colts to see. And so there is iron in your words of a playoff berth. No signed paper can hold the iron, it must come from coaches. The words of Pagano carries the same iron of healthy teams and playoff births. It is good that coaches such as we meet in the struggle of injuries and playoff games. It shall be health/playoffs. I would cut my hand and put it up to the phone however that would be kind of dumb.

Garrett: Darn I already cut my hand. Please don't tell anyone about that

Pagano: Whatever, see you Sunday.

What?
