Finding players I agree but solidify players is different. I think Eric Reid combine makes him a solid pick. Solid good player at LSU and with a verg good combine.

Vacarro is too slow to be pick 18

HE plays a lot faster and his 10 yard split was very good. Also he was very smooth, probably the best safety in the drills.

He was tied for 39th in the Ten-Yard times.

Really surprised at shawn williams 40. He is more of a hitter. He doesnt look that fast. Rambo is def faster, or appears to be at least.

Really surprised that jefferson was 4.75

That's total with CBs, ofcourse CBs have a better 10 yard split.
What was his compared other safties

I would rather go OL DL or trade back because Cyprien and Reid IMO are almost just as good as Vcarro

His 10 yard split is 1.57 same as Elam and Swearinger, 10 yard split is more important then 40 yard dash.

That's true of positions like DL or OL that seldom run 40 yards. That's not true of safeties, corners or WRs but I'd argue that 3-cone success is more an indicator than the 40.

Yes, the 10-yard split is the number that I was referencing.

My point was that his speed ranks about the same relative to the other DBs regardless of whether you compare his 10-yard or 40-yard time.

How many times does a safety run straight from a 3 point stance, never. If your looking for a ball hawking center field safety then 10 yard split is very important. Mid of the field how fat can you contain that 15 yard radius, not 40 yards down the field. Your already starting 20 yards off the line.

Well he will probably be there at #18 now, unless something crazy happens at his pro day.

Earl Thomas put up a 4.43 in his combine, and noone of this safety class was able to put up that kinda number.

4.42 Thomas, Shamarko
4.44 Wolff, Earl
4.46 Williams, Shawn

Possible CB-to-Safety conversion:
4.44 Amerson, David

None of those safeties fit the profile of top 5 at the position, and we really don't have time for a conversion project at this point.

This draft has depth, but overall its pretty weak.

S. Williams and Amerson could be stars at the next level. Don't know much about Wolff.

Shawn Williams was a 2 year starter for a very good SEC defense. He makes a lot of plays.

I don't know that he will ever be a star, but he can be a starter in this league.

I didn't see anything about top 5.

I am not a combine fan either but you would have shook your head at Landry, Brandt and Schramm?

Amerson is my pet cat. He should be a pro bowler at either FS or as a zone corner. He is fast but he doesn't flip his hips well. He excels when he his able to keep his eyes toward the ball carrier/QB. Plus he is physical against the run.

Well I was meaning top players in my post, not later round picks.

I'm not physic; although I do have a magic 8-ball somewhere.
