You are a special kind of delusional...

I'll admit TO *could* be out, but there's been no reliable indication that's going to happen. But Key coming back?? Without BP here??:laugh2:

I disagree. I've watched each game 2 or 3 times each by now.

Rivera was a tremendously weak link on the OLine. We missed a 3rd and 1 play because Rivera's man just pushed him aside like a ragdoll and collapsed the entire line where Barber was headed. There were numerous times he was pushed back into Romo's lap while Romo was trying to throw. Also look at the other times when Romo had to scramble because Rivera's man broke free. Remember how for a long time there Romo's passer rating was extremely high when he was throwing from OUTSIDE the pocket?... well he was outside the pocket because pressure was coming from up the middle and usually from Rivera's side.

Colombo is a GOOD RT. At 1 point in the season (AFTER the Giants game 1... Parcells said in his PC that Colombo had yet to give up a single sack all season). I honestly don't recall Colombo requiring a lot of help... consider the fact that ALL of the chop blocking penalties our RB's picked up were committed on the LEFT side of the line.. meaning they were helping our left side primarily. Add in the fact that Colombo did have to face some of the best pass rushers we faced (Peppers and Strahan) and it makes sense that he would need some help at times... but I never got the feeling we couldn't send Witten out in routes because Colombo was a liability.

Davis will be a very good RG.

Gurode is a GOOD center.. the problem he had previously is that they were trying to have him play Center and Guard and he wound up having trouble with the mental side of learning 2 positions from what I saw.

Kosier was a pretty good LG for us... the only times he really had any trouble were on DLine stunts (especially against Philly) because he has a tendency to put his face right on the person he's blocking and didn't see the stunting lineman.

Flozell was better later in the season than he was early on... this is entirely because of the knee injury. I don't recall seeing any reports of the Cowboys staff being concerned about his knee... where did you hear that? Flo's got a full offseason to get in shape and regain his strength that was lost when he couldn't workout because of the knee injury.

It only makes sense that we can afford to be optimistic about this oline. We KNOW who our starting LT and RT's are going to be heading into training camp... last year, they were both questions... heck everyone thought it would be Pettiti till he got cut. Even Center was a question mark between Gurode and Johnson. At least now we have ALL of the same players returning except 1... good teamwork is of utmost importance on the oline and that's tough to achieve when you're going to through linemen like its musical chair every season.

We already talked about this STS. The oline wasn't GREAT but it wasn't absolutely AWFUL either.

I guess I can agree with that. They were an OK offensive line.

But do you agree that we HAVE improved our OLine from last season quite a bit which is exactly why people are optimistic...?

Columbo was a bit of a problem last year IMO...Witten had to help out way too much.

Kosier got laid out several times too....and Gurode still knows how to wiff on his man.

Same thing with Flozell....he gets beat by speed too much.

While I think we are improved with Davis at Guard I do believe that we are not as great as the homers may say. You can see a homer a mile a way....they have been posting....Oh our Line is going to be dominant...awesome...lol...etc.etc.etc....Did they watch the games last year?

IMO I would say our line went from a 6.5 to a 7.25.

After reading your garbabe post about how bad Jerry Jones has screwed the team up...........YOU HAVE ZERO CREDIT WITH BEAST NOW.

That might not be a bad idea...! Why torture yourself with an owner that you hate and say is ruining the Cowboys until he dies!

Go find a team with a good owner...you will be so much more happier and you won't have to break any more blood vessels in your big forehead for being so frustrated!

I'm gonna take a non homer approach if you will.

IMO, Flozell does have mental lapses, but for the most part, he keeps his guy in check. However, there are some games where Flozell completely gets us beaten. Problem is, we have to learn to adjust to that because we're not going to find 5 all world linemen.

How can we adjust?
We can start by swinging out to the running backs, draw plays to Flozells side, become better at screens, roll the pocket.

At times, we had problems with running behind Kosier and Kosier getting man handled by stronger tackles in the passing game. I do believe we can up grade this position, but it's not life threatening.
How do we work around Kosier when we can't run straight up behind him or he's getting pushed around by bigger stronger tackles?

How about pull him? Maybe run behind a FB when we're running to his side.
Gurode can help out when we play certain teams, and by all means, try running quicker passing plays.

Gurode only had problems with stunts and an occasional stunt blitz.
Rivera just kept getting pushed back, and that's not acceptable.

Columbo was very good IMO and he's going to get better.

So yeah we could upgrade Flozell, but don't make a mistake and downgrade thinking you're upgrading. The person needs to clearly be better. And Kosier is a solid guard, again, if you're going to upgrade, then go high in the draft or with a proven commodity.

Carry on folks. :)

You were "out" a long time ago...!

Find another team that suits you...

Everyone knows that the Boyz have not had a good team in awhile, but, there is no use in bawling about it over and over! If you care to look, this Cowboy team is getting better and better....

Or, you can suffer in your misery...that's up to you. But don't share your misery with us that have hope and can SEE that the team is going in the right direction...
