Well, the savvy, veteran posters who've been here since the inception of Cowboys Zone really don't want to hear that Dak is the real deal. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees. I remember back in the 90's when everyone said the Cowboys COULDN'T go to the super bowl because they started 0-2. It had never been done. They did it anyway. Now they are saying its impossible for a Rookie QB to win games and we can't win without Romo. I say BULL. What's sad is this is coming mostly from Cowboy fans. I think they are just hedging their bets. If he plays poorly, they can say "I told you so" and if he plays well, everyone forgets what was said....I swear, I wouldn't want to be on the same team as most of these so called realists.....
I would consider myself a realist and I am a fan, just not a homer when it comes to assessing what I see with the team. I didn't say it was impossible or even improbable that we can't win but some are really getting way out in front on a rookie QB because of pretend season play.
If he has a really tough time of it, I wouldn't think of "I told you so's", what's the point? We all want him to do well but it may take more time than some want to allow and it may not happen at all, which some cannot accept. The failure to success ratio of QBs selected in the 1st round is not good, it just gets worse the further down the rounds. All of these pro scouts and teams that had Dak in the 3rd or 4th knew something or he would have been higher.
All I am saying is let this play out and let's see how he progresses and to me, the outcome of the games is secondary to finding the next franchise QB. If he can be that guy, I really don't care about this season because the damned thing has been unraveling month by month throughout the off season. Got to the point where the only good news was not being in the news.
Hey, you Dak supporters, stop taking this as a slam against him and accept it for just what it is, reservations about a rookie QB with a mediocre, or worse, defense and a questionable offensive coaching staff when #9 is not playing. Because the only time they seem to be able to coach is when he's playing.
