firehawk, just GTHO.

Don't even get me started on Rock Cartwright.
firehawk350;3611508 said:Just a quick question, but would you have thought the Cowboys played better if they gave up the 3 sacks to Orakpo as opposed to getting flagged for a hold that was the result of getting beat cleanly?
Honestly, the Cowboys are one of the most penalized teams in the league and while some of those are suspect (the celebration penalty), some of them are definitely the result of getting beat and then having to cheat. Think about what your yards and stats would look like if you didn't cheat and instead, gave up the reception or sack or whatever. Romo would likely be on some form of life support.
I was going to respond in this thread, but you said everything that I wanted to.InTheClouds;3611533 said:Put Mike Shanahan on Dallas and they're 5-0 and blowing teams out. Of course, there'd be a lot of offseason drama as the players realize the reality show is over and they'll actually have to put in work in the offseason?
But the fact is, our overall talent level is probably bottom 20 at best. We're starting a PSer at RB, WR, guys who played in the Arena League a guy who was a backup in Denver at LG, old castoffs along the lines, a 5th round pick at FS....and of course, as you can imagine, our depth is atrocious. Your backup QB is Jon Kitna, ours is Rex Grossman. That says it all.
Coaching and structure matter in this league. We should be 0-5 with our current talent level against the teams' we've faced.
That is why I am terrified of a guy like Cowher coaching the Boys...he won't put up with the nonsense there, and he'll mold your team into tough (mentally and physically) winners. Except you'll have top 5 talent at EVERY position except secondary.
Ren;3611570 said:How can it? you're talking about all the sack we'd give up if not for holding, yet holding hasn't been that big of a problem. Crap like PI offensive and defensive, defensive holding, false start, personal fouls, block in the back and stuff like that.
I'm sorry we cheated your boyfriend out of 3 sacks on that 1 hold at the end of the game :laugh2:
Bob Sacamano;3610782 said:And they had to settle for that field goal because Donald Driver dropped his 4th pass that would have put the Pack in the redzone. Dude was wide open and just muffed it.
Your Wrs suck. So yeah, they're expected to drop passes.Sonny#9;3611971 said:So do the Packers drops count more than the Commanders ones?
Good point.Bob Sacamano;3612020 said:Your Wrs suck.
and its great being a cowboy fan in december(sarcasm)CowboysFaninBaltimore;3611358 said:It's fun for you to be a Skins fan from September through October and then November comes around and the party starts to die out. Eh trust me, it will be like every other season you have. 8 and 8 at best, and then of course it will be the controversy of trading McNabb AGAIN, and then wanting another coach. I mean what else will not want to do in the offseason? You have a piece of **** team, that is managing to pull out wins against squads that usually gave up in the end. Look I know my team sucks right now, and it's understandable it comes down to coaching. But seriously you aren't that good, and the end of the season is going to prove that.
firehawk350;3611862 said:First off, Barron was called for 3 holds on Orakpo...
Second off, my basic point remains the same. I'm sorry you don't have the mental capacity to take an EXAMPLE and apply it across the spectrum to all the penalties the Cowboys commit. Run the example for either one of Mike Jenkins' PI on the first drive of the Titans game and my point remains the same. Don't interfere and you add the 50 something yards to Vince Young's stats.

By 1/2/2011 . . . the Commanders will be at the bottom of the division.

He sounds like a great weakside LB though.

Mansta54;3612414 said:I've said this over and over again.. I don't care what place we're in in sept oct or nov. Dec is when I want to be in 1st and playing well. You win NOTHING in the earlier months... NOTHING!!!!
Bob Sacamano;3612454 said:Coverage isn't just about not giving up a play. For a safety it's also about providing help to the CBs, and he hardly does.
SkinsHokieFan;3612505 said:But you sure as hell can lose the season in earlier months. And given the Cowboys recent December history...
The Commanders were playing a super nickel 3 safety package most of yesterday. Landry was essentially a rover. And he did a damn good job at it, forcing 2 turnovers (fumble and getting the INT in OT) and once again being a force tackling guys.
Come on Bobby
Bob Sacamano;3612508 said:Good for Landry. Guess that helps him not have to think too much.
