according to @AdamSchefter ...Professor Burbank dismissed the Commanders and Cowboys challenges to get back salary-cap space they lost.

well that sucks.

The NFL hates the Cowboys. They just like to use them to make money

well Danny Boy is going to sue. Sounds weird though- I thought this was just about if the League could do anything at all?

It's probably ruled on technical grounds.

Boy, the NFL does not want to meet Danny Boy in court: They'll be wishing for the return of Al Davis.

Will be interesting. Wonder how long til the issue goes to court?

Why were so many CZ members confident that the NFL would lose this thing?

Cowboys, Commanders lose their appeal on salary cap penalty

The Cowboys and Commanders have lost at least one battle in their attempt to get back the combined $46 million in salary cap space that the NFL took away from them.

NFL general counsel Jeff Pash told Judy Battista of the New York Times that Special Master Stephen Burbank dismissed the grievance filed by the Cowboys and the Commanders.

JMO, but I think this one round was lost based on whether Burbank had the authority to rule on it and something to do with the CBA. So I think they still have an avenue of recourse.

that is what I thought as well. Leave it to Schefter to screw up.

Special Master huh? More like Special Ed.........

It may have been dismissed because the players union agreed with the NFL concerning the levying of the fines.

I don't think he got to the point of judging the merit's of their grievance.

The bottom line is that I don't think the Cowboys/Commanders had much of a chance at this level, but they had to pursue it first in order to justify going the next step if they so choose to go that route which would be a lawsuit.

And that rat bastid, John Mara, sits and chuckles in his dank lair, somewhere deep within the bowels of the NYC sewer system.

Jerruh might shrug off the $10 million but there is NO way Danny Boy is going to eat $36 million without a big fight going all the way.

To fight it further in common court would require challenging the antitrust exemption, and Jerry and Snyder certainly don't want to do that.

This is one time that I will be rooting for the Midget...
