One QB in NFL History scored a 50. By your logic he's the best QB ever right?

When did I ever say that? The only thing I stated was that Campbel's wonderlic wasn't low, he MIGHT NOT be as dumb as some people want to make him out to be.

And, he MIGHT NOT be as smart as some want to make him out to be? The door swings both ways...this is not ES and Art is not the daddy around here...

Being dumb may or may not lead to him washing out if he does. But the Wonderlic has very little to do with inteligence or ability to play the game. Teams use it to get a psychological peek into a player, not to gauage intelligence. That is a common misconception. If they wanted to really gauge a player's intelligance they'd use an LSAT or some other difficult test that requires rationale and logic.

Actually Hos, no QB has ever scored a 50. It was widely but erroneously reported that Ryan Fitzpatrick scored a 50 but his actual score was "only" a 38.

Pat McInally, former Bengal P and WR remains as the lone 50 in the Wonderlic's history of testing NFL hopefuls.

If true I stand corrected. I've seen several mentions of Fitz scoring the 50 and am going on that.

The point remains that the Wonderlic doesn't prove anything.

You seem to be saying it proves he isn't dumb.

It doesn't prove that, and no I did not just maintain that he is dumb. There is no proof that doing well on the Wonderlic means someone isn't dumb. There is no proof that someone who does poorly is dumb either. The Wonderlic doesn't prove anything.

It never has, it never will. You used it to support your stance. It won't. Period.

The Wonderlic is a useful tool if it's applied properly.

Like any other test, it can be prepped for so the results can be a bit misleading, but it does give a good insight into a player's reading skills and thought processes.

You can't really look at a player's grades because some schools like Miami and Ohio State have a documented history of illegal assistance for student athletes to keep them eligible.

Where else are you going to look to see if a certain player has the requisite intelligence to play for your team?

A useful tool? Yes. A measure of intelligence? No.

Relevant to this Commanders fan's point? Not at all.

I just got back to the thread so I'd like to clarify my post. First, I think I made it perfectly clear that what I posted may not be true but WAS the talk of the town. You cannot listen to sportstalk 980 without hearing everyone speculate on why Campbell is not playing. Many people have concluded that the coaching staff just doesn't think he is good enough or is ready yet. A few weeks ago they were talking all week about a source within the team that let it slip at a team function that many people inside the organization now feel they missed on Campbell. I live in Ashburn and hangout on occasion at a few of the local watering holes that are frequented by guys that work for the skins. I don't let them know I'm a Cowboys fan and on numerous occasions I've been told that several coaches don't like Campbell. He will make a nice play on occasion but has shown no consistency, makes alot of mistakes in practice, and doesn't seem to know the offense as well as he should by now. I have been told this 1st hand by people I think should know and have heard it on the radio alot. These are skins fans in the know who seem really down on Campbell's potential. Also, none of these guys think he should play over Brunell. They understand the average fan wants Campbell but they think it would be much worse with him in there at this time.

You don't have to believe me if you don't want. Thats fine and I don't expect you to. I have no way to prove the conversations I've had with people who work for the skins but all you have to do is listen to 980 for a few days and I bet they'll start talking about it!
