This is just my opinion but we beat the best of those three teams and the thing the team has to take from it is the need to keep the intensity level high. We've outplayed all three opponents except the stupid mistake metric. Penalties and turnovers.

That should be the positive takeaway for this Cowboy team. They have the talent to beat any team in the NFL. But if they don't play with intensity/urgency and limit their mistakes they can just as easily lose. Losing those first two games may be the best thing that has happened to this team IMHO.

I think losing those two games is the worst that could happen. I wanted a first round bye.

It isn't gone yet. The whole NFC is upside down. Heck, the whole NFL.

Teams arn't laying down for "better" teams anymore, as it should be.

Every week is a battle on the grid-iron, would you rather have it any other way?

Based on the first 4 weeks, I don't see a single NFC team capable of running away with it. We are still in great position to get homefield advantage as long as we play the way we are capable of.

With our schedule those two games are going to come into play unless we go on a big win streak. I think you're being optimistic to think those games don't come into play. But I agree at this point the NFC looks weak.

I am hopeful that those two losses opened the Cowboys eyes that they cannot win on talent alone and will play with a sense of urgency going forward. They were faced with having their SB dreams dashed by the third week. The only saving grace was they beat Houston and the rest of the SB contenders suffering losses as well. That should motivate them from here on out. I know we will not go undefeated. The rest of the way but I do feel we will have some big winning streaks between losses. And I expect that our biggest competition will have some losses as well, including the rest of the NC East. That will keep us in contention throughout the season. We also have several revenge games that will keep us motivated - Minn, GB, NY, Skins.

I will admit that I do tend to be an optimist.

I hope you are right.

I don't care about having home field throughout the playoffs. I just want us to have home field for the SB. That's all that matters.

We've got to make up a game. Beyond that, the team that plays the best football wins.

Our schedule from here on out doesn't look nearly as tough as it did before the season started, anyway.

With our schedule

Given how mediocre most teams have looked, our schedule doesn't look so tough anymore. Who's the best team left on our schedule? Indianapolis, which is 2-2, got routed by a team we routed and just lost to Jacksonville? Green Bay, which got outplayed and barely squeaked by the Lions at home? New Orleans, which lost to Atlanta and probably should have lost to two 0-4 teams?

Granted, they can say the same things about us, but there is NO team on our schedule that is even playing well right now.

It has been an odd season so far. In the past few years, Dallas has had streaks where they looked like the best team in the NFL. Then they would go get beat by teams that found a way to put it all together. This year, I think the whole league looks beatable. I hope Dallas can get it together. I dont see any great teams out there.

There are a lot of teams in the SB hunt this year, primarily because there is no dominant team. It could be a special year if Dallas can stay healthy and limit mistakes.

I agree jobber...losing one wouldnt have been so bad, but losing to both the Commanders and Bears (niether of whom I believe is all that good) is gonna bite us come playoff time.

I disagree.

The Commanders are the only team of the three that is going to be a serious contender when December rolls around.

well of course you say that.

Unlike other Commanders (or Cowboys fans for that matter) fans on this site, I don't ditch my team after a bad performance or two.

No argument against that.
