Commanders hire Jay Gruden for HC

I think it is a good hire. Although I still question the Commanders' front office capacity to do anything right.

Awesome.

Watching the game Sunday it's comical to me that Zimmer and gruden are getting interviews when I think it was clear the better coaches where in Sam Diego.

But at the end of the day there are probably very few people who will work for Snyder just like Jerry. And if you can work for the guys that own the bengals then you can work for the skins I guess.

And I guess whisnhut is to smart to go to Washington anyway seeing that he turned down al Davis at one point.

when you have a FO that is as dysfunctional and meddlesome as the skins or the cowboys, you really need a tried and tested HC with skins on the wall to be able to stand up to that and truly change the culture

that is why garrett has been a failure in dallas and that is why jay gruden will fail in DC

Thoughts? Seen where some say Haslett stays as DC and some say Raheem Morris

runs a pretty balanced offense, explosive plays are there with at least 1 elite WR in Green and a below average QB in Dalton.. not really sure if scared yet

A big shrug from here in DC.

Like that he is young and can communicate. Not very sold on his results. Whatever, we'll probably be hiring James Franklin in 4 years anyway

Great news. The guy was about the 3rd best coach on that staff.

Dallas fans can't laugh considering my grandmother from the village could coach better than our clown head coach.

Can't judge how a coordinator will perform as a head coach. We have nothing to go off of. We don't even know if he will be calling plays. If so, we can maybe judge his offense. If not, there's nothing we can go off of. No correlation between success as a coord or lack thereof and success as a HC.

Agree.

Pros: Young, seemed to communicate well with players on Hard Knocks, worked well getting Dalton to this level

Cons: Never a HC, last name is Gruden, sort of a blow hard in my opinion, offense failed in the playoffs 3 years in a row, had elite WR talent in Cinci.

I really have no opinion either way. He is a Bruce Allen guy, not Shanahan and hopefully won't be burning the building down in 4 years with damaging "leaks"
