Forgive me if this has been posted. If it has, please feel free to kill the thread. Anyway, please take a look at this video clip:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3CqzHS7kuA

Fast forward to and note the actions of the Commanders kicker at:

1:05
1:35
2:10
2:20
2:30
2:52

The Commanders kicker sets up at the 35 intending to practice some kickoffs. Also note where LP Ladouceur sets up (not sure if he's setting up to snap for punts or what). At 2:40, note what the Commanders kicker does near Ladouceur.

After you've seen the video, please post your reactions. I am very interested to know how others react to this. I will reserve comment until others have a chance to post theirs.

Didn't notice anything unusual. But it looked like he might kick a cheerleader in the head with some of those kicks.

I see where you're going but it's kind of like putting a wedge in Tiger's hand and having him hit over the girls. It's awkward and makes you feel uneasy about it but he's NEVER going to hit them.

I also think the players have priority of the field in that situation. He could have waited and its classless but in my opinion not dangerous. I'm interested to see what you think.

I want to wait for more comments before I post mine, but suppose for a moment we are Commander fans, and the video clip involves a Dallas kicker warming up while the Commander Band is still on the field.

Do you think a Commander fan's reaction would be comparable to the two Dallas reactions posted so far?

i thought it was a huge ******bag move. i especially dont like the fact that he picked up their pom poms and basically threw them back at a girl. and LP seemed to react like "what the hell is this guy doing?!?!?!?!"

i hope this becomes a bigger deal with the players and they lay that punk out next time we play them on the very first kickoff he is involved in!

I thought he was acting like a jerk. He mi****s a ball and it takes out a cheerleader just doing her job. The punter was also practicing on the other end.

I agree with this post

How hard would it have been for the kickers to scoot over? I don't see why they had to be in striking distance from the cheerleaders, whether they had privilege to be on the field or not.

I am a hardcore football fan....and at this level....the NFL level...I find cheerleaders to be an unecessary distraction. I guess I am just getting old (turned 40 this year). I don't watch pre-game. I don't watch halftime. I think the amount of nonsense all of this creates with VERY little insight is for fans that need to be entertained. Football. All night. All day. That is all I need.

I think the older you get, the more you'll appreciate those pretty girls.:laugh2:

I don't blame the kicker as much as I do whoever organizes this stuff. The cheerleaders should not be out on the field when the players are trying to warm up, period! That seems like a pretty simple bit of common sense to me.

Yeah I don't blame the kicker at all... He is warming up, and I think I would be annoyed if I were him.

Maybe he threw the pom poms because they were in his way or perhaps he was annoyed.

It definitely seems ridiculous that they were doing their performance during his warmup.

The cheerleaders are there to be a distraction. That is their job. Not a distraction during actual game play, but a distraction during TV timeouts and stoppages when nothing is happening on the field. Very functional.

I thought it was a dick move when I saw him doing that. I would have laid him out if I had been out on the field.

This wasn't during the typical "pre-game warmups" that happen half an hour before the game. This was right before the game started and the teams were about to come out of the locker room. He had already done his warmup. It was pretty clear he was trying to be an ******* about it. He ran through the kicks right into a couple of cheerleaders.

He's trying to act like a ******. He's a kicker.

I agree with this. The cheerleaders did not need to be middle of the field for that routine, they could have shifter 15 yards closer to the sideline, imo. I have no problem with the kicker doing what he did, if that was his allotted warm up time.
