Commanders' Monk, Green Elected to Hall

No grasp of impact on the game.

But I was told he was just a fast guy so you must be wrong. :lmao2:

I watched a show on the NFL Network a couple weeks ago about the early Cowboy years and had bits and pieces of several games. I was amazed by his fluidity and route running but I must be wrong because he was just a fast guy. I must not know anything about the game.:

Nors has constantly proven over time that he only understands stats. Its a shame he is so blind but who really cares anyway. By the way its been clear for a long time that he is a Pats fan first then a boys fan.

Well the game figured him out and after 5-6 seasons of ok play he petered out. 35 years later no Hall

You obviously have no historical understanding of the game of football. Your opinion has little merit due to this staggering fact.

You obviously never watched him play - 5 Time All Pro, co defensive player of the year and 100 career sacks from the strong side.

Haley deserves in and One trick poney Thomas may or may not get in.

Tippett is In!

I watched him play, but don't remember him beind anything special. I don't ever remember him taking over a game, or dominating anyone. He may have had 100 sacks, but really I don't think he was all that special.

Special is LT, Reggie White, Randy White, Harvey Martin.........but oh well.

congrats to them. Long overdue for Monk and green maybe the best corner ever.

Agreed, congrats to Darrell Green and Art Monk, two of the finest Commanders ever.

Now about Bobby Hayes. Yes, he was a 'fast guy'. But the man was an athlete. He averaged 20 yards per catch over his career, in addition to his return skills.

The HOF is a sham, and a mockery as long as Hayes is kept out. We Cowboys fans bemoan the omission of Cliff Harris and Drew Pearson, and as great as they were, they did not change the game.

There have been plenty of fast guys in the NFL. Hayes was not only the world's fastest human, but also a helluva football player who forced the adoption of the zone defense and greater usage of bump and run coverage.

Andre Tippett is in and Bobby Hayes is still out? Are you kidding me?

Fred Dean gets in but Haley is denied...interesting.
Both Skins deserve to get in...respect those two players.

I agree that both deserve to get in. You know....I'm always impressed with the class displayed by our fans.

It's funny.

After Irvin made it in last year, I didn't see nearly as many posts about how he deserved to make it. Most Skins fans posted that he didn't deserve to get in.

I am glad Monk is finally in. He is a class guy all the way. I am surprised that he got in and Cris Carter didn't though.

Fred Dean and Andre Tippet? Are you kidding me?

Yet Chuck Howley and Cliff Harris are still out. There is no way I would take either of them over those 2 guys and I will include Derrick Thomas in that. No way are they better than he was.

I think the HOF voters are complete idiots.

Darrell Green was a no-brainer. I always admired him.

I agree with that 100% buddy!

Well said

I remember when I was just a kid and watched the Pro Bowl that the DBs for the National League were, for probably 4 - 5 years, Harris and Waters from Dallas and Fencik and Plank from the Bears. Cannot remember watching one without Howley playing.

Bob Hayes is not a HOF.

well of course he is not, silly... he has never been elected...

now it would probably be the most idiotic thing you have ever uttered if you believe he isn't deserving of the hall of fame...

the hall of fame is for the greatest players and/or those that had an impact on the game...

just some quick Bob Hayes stats for those that love those sorta things

in 1968 Bob averaged 20.8 yrds per punt return (not kickoff (though he average over 25 yards per kickoff) but punt return)

Bob during his 11 year career averaged (HELLO) over 20 yards per reception (unfreaking real).

Bob had 371 receptions in his career...gained 7414 yards and had 71 TD's

Jerry Rice only once in 1988 had over 20 yrds per reception TO never has...

and Bob did this in a time of WR muggings

only a complete idiot would think that Bob was not hall worthy.... anybody wanting to sign up for the idiot list ...

Well said... :clap2: Please do not forget Mr. Hayes revolutionized the position with is blazing speed, teams didn't know what hit them when he ran those deep routes. Some people don't understand the impact certain players had on this game we call the National Football League...

Green and Monk CERTAINLY deserve to be in. There are many on this forum that have supported that for a long time...

Now, will Commander fans support, Bob Hayes, Drew Pearson, Cliff Harris and Harvey Martin getting in?

Right is right...
