Commanders | Team's offense struggles during scrimmage
Sat, 5 Aug 2006 18:52:35 -0700

Melinda Waldrop, of The Daily Press, reports the Washington Commanders offense struggled during their scrimmage against the Baltimore Ravens Saturday, Aug. 5. The team gained a total of two yards in their first six tries on their first drive. Head coach Joe Gibbs said, "I think we've got a long ways to go. That would probably be my assessment."

I doubt gibbs put any in effort at all with the starters. I remember last year they purposely did not pick up the blitz just to get their qbs adjusted. I'll hold my judgememnt on the Commanders offense until preseason.

ya, that is pretty sad. with no scheming at all, you still wanna see your offense have some success on talent alone at least. That OL might not be all that its cracked up to be this year

Commander Offense struggles:
Gibbs the mastermind runs a vanilla offense,
doesn't want to show all their bullets, going easy on the defense

Cowboys offense struggles:
OL will get killed, BP & Offensive staff are inept,
should've signed more free-agents, 8-8 is the best the Cowboys can hope for.

If you watched the scrimmage on NFL network, you'll know that not a single offensive starter played in the 11-on-11 portion of the scrimmage. That includes RB, WR, TE, OL, QB.

2 yards on six plays - that's what happens with 20 yards in penalties. Campbell, Collins, and Bramlet (camp fodder) had very few incompletions and no turnovers against a tough Ravens D that played all of their starters for two drives.

After the first six plays, they moved the ball with ease. 4 possessions - 1 TD, 3 FG tries. Those FG may have been TDs, except they were limited in the amount of plays per drive.

Tough Raven defense? Those days are long gone.

MossYearner,
The fact that you are trolling on a Cowboy site making excuses is very telling.
I watched the scrimmage and thought the Skins did very well and he's right the skins didn't play any of their O starters except some line guys. On D they looked as good as well intercepting a Mcnair pass for a TD on the Ravens first posession.

But you have to look at it like this its only 1 week into TC. I wasn't really expecting much....

Commanders | Hall struggles during scrimmage
Sun, 6 Aug 2006 09:09:00 -0700

Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports Washington Commanders PK John Hall struggled during the 11-on-11 portion of the scrimmage Saturday, Aug. 5. Hall missed two field goals, causing special teams coach Danny Smith to say, "One for three ain't good enough. But John, I love him. He'll be a great kicker and he's been a great kicker." Hall missed from 46 yards and 47 yards, but was able to connect on a 37-yard field goal.
