Washington Post has said that Cerrato said no to Vick.
Didnt he say the same thing about trying to trade Campbell?

Cerrato says "no" on Vick

Posted by Mike Florio on July 28, 2009 10:26 AM ET
Well, it was fun while it lasted.

Amid the beginnings of rumors that the Commanders could be thinking about making a run for quarterback Mike Vick, head football honcho (too lazy to look up his formal title) Vinny Cerrato tells Jason Reid of the Washington Post that the team isn't interested in Vick.

Cerrato said the same thing when receiver just as Terrell Owens became available earlier this year, and the team indeed did not pursue him.

So as we dust off the Anti-Vick List, we'll have to add the Commanders.

Then again, they were already on the list.

Oops.

That said, circumstances have changed dramatically in the past 18 hours. And so, as teams begin to chase Vick, we don't rule out the possibility that a team that already has said "no" will at least revisit its position.

But has Snyder? ...... cause thats all that really matters.

Ain't that the truth.

Nobody wants to prematurely say that they want Vick. Nobody wants to be the first team to show any interest.

I think black balling this guy is the most insane thing I've ever seen. I'm not a Mike Vick fan. And I'm a multiple dog owner who thinks that cruelty to animals is wrong. But a dog is not a human, and I've seen less hubbub about guys who have assaulted women than a guy who went to prison for 2 years and has already paid his debt to society. In my opinion we need a little perspective about the difference between dogs and people.

It goes on and on. I can't even begin to imagine the media circus that is going to follow around the team that finally bites the bullet and gives him another shot.

So you want him on the Cowboys team?

I don't think it's any kind of collusion... I think it's just that nobody wants the PR hit.

BTW, did anyone hear Peter King on Cowherd this morning? He said he thinks Parcells and Ireland would definitely have been interested if they hadn't drafted Pat White, because "Parcells isn't scared of anything".

LOL.

Hey Hostile buddy, did you see what the Commander fans were saying, i removed the fans smack talk, but it was pretty strong language, but you can read the smack talk through the link to the website. Thought youd be intersted in what the skins fans thought, not liking the thought of vick going to Commanders.
Ware can intercept, stiff arm him into the carpet and score off a Commander jersey wearing Vick as easily as a Falcon jersey wearing Vick. What's not to like?

This is the honest truth.

This morning I had considered starting a thread asking whether posters would believe that owner collusion was a possibility if Vick wasn't picked up by any team. Then I thought it was a bad idea and shelved it. I've gotta stop doing that.

Jerry will never sign Vick. You can shelve that worry forever. I was told by someone I trust that Jerry is a dog lover and was appalled at the unfolding of Vick's story.

I don't think the fact that Jerry is a dog lover factored in his decision to not sign Vick. IMO, Jerry concluded and I agree that Vick can't help us. If Jerry thought Vick could get him to the super bowl, Vick would have been at Valley Ranch faster then you can say "Ummm, Uhhhh".

Do you think you could get these 32 men to all agree? Seldom do they all agree on anything.

No, but it has nothing to do with "punishing" him more for what he has done. He doesn't fit a need we have. If Vick could really help us win, I'd have him in a heartbeat. He has paid his debt and now even had Tony Dungy as a mentor.

I don't blame owners if they "black ball" the guy. I really don't.

I haven't seen or heard protests against players accused of domestic violence against a wife or girlfriend. I haven't seen or heard of protests against players accused of driving while impaired.

Animal rights activists are another story. They are going to show up in every city that the team who signs him plays in and especially in the city where he plays.

If I were an NFL Owner I wouldn't want the grief. Call it a "black ball" all you want. I call it common sense thinking.

Who knows? Just because each owner may not require Vick on their team isn't a good enough reason for at least one of them to feel somehow indebted enough to give him a job. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me to also find out that all 32 owners are members of the same Salvation Army chapter. Talk about your salt-of-the-earth humanitarians.

You become PETAs favorite team.

So there's a fringe benefit to signing Vick then? :)

Seriously - I would be utterly shocked if the Skins sign him. He was not better then Campbell 2 years ago. He has never had even a 3000 yrd season. And that is just the player, not the person. And the person is even worse...

Say what you want about Campbell's abilities on the field -- he is a stand-up guy. He has handled himself with class when his status was in question not once but twice this offseason.

Mike Vick to Washington makes a lot of sense... Campbell will be a free agent after this year and they want to upgrade the position. Mike Vick can sit out a year and get his self mentally and physically ready for football. I'm cheering for the guy to bounce back because he's been kicked long enough. This is not my VA bias speaking either....

Owner will bring in a guy if they feel he can help them. Vick had a 75 QB rating lets not kid ourselves Vick ability as a QB was already coming under major question before he got into trouble, now he is 2 years removed and I doubt he has been developing his skills at the Fed prison he was in. I do think someone will go out and bring him in but I'm one who does not believe it will be as a QB and you better have some very good PR skills because it does matter what your fans think.

Maybe Daniel Snyder's setting him up for the hat trick!
